The allegation that the Down Syndrome baby was Bristol's and not Sarah Palin's WAS a smear. It first surfaced on DailyKos and then spread to media rooms all over the country. That sort of trash has no place in this campaign.

For what it's worth, Democratic strategist and women's advocate Susan Estridge just said on Fox News that she was outraged by the way Palin's family is being attacked. She says the attacks are purely sexist and that fully 30% of the Hillary voters could switch to the GOP because of these attacks.
