It absolutely is. If something goes wrong, they aren't alone if they are driving a car around town. This girl is in the middle of a rough ocean on a sail boat. The scenarios are not even comparable, thinking they are is asinine

The problem here is using a 40 foot boat to travel around the world...... Why not try something not to big but not to small.
Sailing the ocean is just an example of the things only a few special people can do or even attempt. People like her sail the ocean and then take the next risk, and the next ... They are the ones who lead the world to where we are at. Who are you to say which endeavour one should take. You have no ideas. Living your every live? Heck, it's great for normal people if that is all you want to be.
White people really do the darnest things. Who would sign off on their kid to do something this dangerous? Are you really serious? You're actually comparing a 16 year old driving a car, to sailing in the open sea? For one, you're in a controller environment as opposed to being all alone out in sea. If worst comes to happen when driving the car, at least help is not far off. Rescuing one person out in the open sea is not exactly an easy task. There are so many factors here that make it that much dangerous than driving a car.
I hate when people say this ridiculous statement. She let her kid do something like this. I'm sure I could you find an example of a black parent allowing her daughter to prostitute herself. Should we say "black people really do the 'darnest' things?"
That's how I see it. This is the kind of crap that rightfully gives black people even more reason to make fun of white people.
There are teenage prostitutes of all ethnicities but 16-year-olds trying to sail around the world tend to be white.
It's just one of many examples. People that are well off tend do more relatively pointless crap compared to people that are struggling economically. It just so happens that the majority of people who are well off are still white. When that changes, so will the nature of this argument.
