It was great for Lakers not just because they got Fisher, an experienced player, who makes good % of wide open shots and plays good defense but also because it meant Lakers would not be relying on some guy named Smush who would be constantly left open to brick wide open shots. We on the other hand have Raf......ahhh...never mind.
Because, by the time Fisher signed, the Rockets already traded for Mike James and drafted Aaron Brooks. They aslo signed Steve Francis a week after Fisher signed with the Lakers. I don't recall if Steve was negotiating iwth the Rockets already. Suffice it to say, the Rockets thought they had a great deal of depth at PG. They didn't anticipate both Steve and Mike would suck.
Because Derek Fisher's daughter has eye cancer and wanted to go to a city that had proper medical treatment for her. Houston prolly has the medical facilities for his daughter but he's going to choose the Lakers because he was one before.
