I would like to know if the team is showing any real signs of resilience among the core senior players. Is Yao starting to get tired? He has definitely improved stamina wise and can even run with the quicker guys on the team, but can it last ? Can we develop a defensive identity? I'm not talking about a slow grind out game plan but can we slow down stronger teams somewhat consistently? How can we minimize the mismatches that we have to face on a daily basis? Do you feel that we will be able to execute better as we go along the rest of the season? Do you feel that James and Francis will be able to help the team out?
Hi, Clutch, here is my question to you and your mates: 'The thing is we have been struggling with the winnings against the crappy teams. I know we are ranked NO. 6 on defense. But how come we always let the crappy teams score so many? We always close a game with a single digit surplus against crappy teams? Does RA has anything to do with this?' PS: I threw the same question to Jon, unfortunately I did not get any response from him. Hopefully your guys could discuss it a little bit if there is no trouble. Sorry that I am not able to call in. But I will listen to the radio show. Good luck with that.
Two point guard questions please: 1 Is Rafer/TMac a comb which just does not work? 2 With (eek) Zeke saying he needs a Point is there any realistic deal possible for Rafe or James to NYK?
Caught it. I called and let them know its a bad move to trade Landry or Scola. -with T-Mac on the downside of his career we need to be thinking of the future. This team is fading from being T-Mac/Yao's team to Yao's team. Much like the Lakers were Shaq's team even though Kobe was a beast. -we have been waiting a long time for forwards like this to compliment Yao. -with the JVG era its been a long time since we have gotten to see rookies/young players with exciting raw talent play this well (and develope into stars, or fan favorites). thanks guys! great show!
Will Head be traded if we can get a more versatile player? Do you think we should keep Head or try to trade him?
That is not true. Hayes plays a little better defense but is a big liability offensively. So, we always have to play 4 on 5 at the beggining of the game and Yao is constantly double teamed. So, given that, it is very hard to set the tone and instead the other team have an easier time defending us. Also, the other team's PF is rested while Hayes is on the field. If we start the game with Scola or Landry, then the other team's PF will have to work on defense too. Hayes is a nice player to have on the field for maybe 5 to 10 minutes.
I don't know, these back-to-backs in November were pretty brutal... Tue 13 @ Memphis L Wed 14 vs LA Lakers L Fri 16 @ San Antonio L Sat 17 vs Phoenix L
It has been a long time since I said something like that and meant it. I wouldn't rule it out, but I don't want to jinx anything!
tmac may be on the downside in terms of staying healthy, not deteriorating skills. when he has been healthy earlier this yr, he looked as dominant as ever. after the ASB and with rest, i predict he will look as dominant as ever. he just needs to keep strengthening his body to prevent injuries. he's been good with his back, now he has to focus on his knees.
From where does your level of optimism originate? I am still in the hopeful stage, I am not yet a believer that the time...is now. But I want to be. (That, or in the LEast...)
I'm not that optimistic.... it was just shocking to hear someone else say it truthfully! I would really love to watch it happen.
Oh, heck yes, I would exult in watching it happen. I could even see the Good Guys making a run east of the Mississip, but, wow, as has been a long time happenin', the West is L-O-A-D-E-D! Ten, at least ten, good-to-great teams. And we are not (yet?) sloped towards 'to-great'. I am unsold about the coach, the Point, and, regrettably, Mr McG. But, they're still playing so I'm still hoping for an uptick.
