Thanks for calling DaDakota... interesting that Rodney mentioned Mo Williams' name as something he heard. I hadn't heard that.
While he is not an elite guard, he would be a significant upgrade over Rafer in his efficiency. Which makes the team overall, that much better.....I wonder who or what we would have to give up to get him. And if they are shopping him it means they really like that kid Sessions. DD
True. I think Williams could come at a cheaper cost because his contract is long... four more years and a player option that could take it a 5th season (2013). Yikes. ANY player with a contract that long concerns me, but we need a boost in this area. He had a career year this season shooting 48% from the field and over 38% from three.
I didn't catch the show. I just heard the last comments about Mo Williams. IMO he may not be an all-star but other than Calderon he is a much better player than the guys being talked about around here. He's just not much of a PG. I think he would be a perfect fit for this team, though.
That contract is atrocious.....almost 8 million this year and escalates from there. He is only 25 though, so that is in his favor, but wow...that is a long deal. DD
I'm sorry, Mo Williams is way overpaid and in my opinion is not a real upgrade from Rafer. He may shoot it better, but his defense is horrendous and he draws no fouls, doesn't penetrate and cause problems. He's Rafer with a better shot, but even less finishing ability at the rim, less penetration than Rafer and zero defense. All those negatives offset his better shooting and make his efficiency go down. The only way I would take him is if Milwaukee sent us back some other value such as Villanueva and their first rounder. Mo Williams is just not worth it.
I think Bucks fans will be very happy to hear that. Kevin Love said he would like to play under Coach Aldamen and pass the ball to Yao. What's your take on this? What will be the price to get him to become a Rocket?
It would mean that Scola would probably have to be moved, as you don't need Scola/Landry/Hayes and Love...... And honestly to me Luis is way underated, he adds so much to this team in the hustle department and extra possessions area. I would rather the team go for a penetrating PG, or a quality athletic SG/SF. DD
kevin love does make sense if landry is going to continue to work on his range, extending it out to the 3pt line. I think landry's better served as a 3/4 than a 4/5 anyway. that said, we'd still have to address our backcourt length/depth issues.
If we can swap Rafer for Mo Williams, do it. Unless, we get a penetrating point guard from another team, we will have to get the best upgrade available, Mo Williams. We'll have to settle for Brooks improving his penetration and to come off the bench.
I like Love's smarts,he is pretty skillful too but his lack of speed bothers me a lot which doesn't help compensate for his lack of height either.
I would not want to take on Mo William's contract. Esp if he's just coming off the bench. Okay, he put up some good numbers, but he hasn't been a difference maker on an underachieving bball team in the eastern conference. The only way it makes sense is if it's time to move on from Rafer, and I'm not sure it is, at least not for Mo.
Is the podcast up yet? I can't find it if it is. On a side note, I don't like how they changed the podcast page to where now you go to every radio show individually instead of one page with all of the podcasts on it.
Let's see about that. From every spot on the floor. Rafer is on a better defensive team by far and barely holds opposing PGs to a lower PER. More than Rafer does. Same shot distribution as Rafer but shoots a better percentage from all areas. Wrong, see above. He is far more efficient on offense than Rafer and almost as good defensively on a far worse defensive team. I'm not sure how the Bucks view him and his rather long contract, but he is young and the deal is not horrible. Rafer is over 30 now and can only get worse. Williams is the perfect shooting PG the Rockets need to put beside the ball-handling T-Mac in the backcourt. We may wish things would be different, but T-Mac is not going to stop handling the ball, so we might as well make teams pay for doubling him. I would trade Rafer + Head for Williams.
