Wasn't even given a chance. I know he isn't even close to the same player he used to be but he wasn't even given a chance even in the blowout games.

Hopefully alston/brooks will be enough and no one gets hurt along the way. Good luck stevie. Thanks for the even though small memories the 2nd time around.

Ironic he gets traded to the team he didn't want to go to when he got drafted. He just might end up retiring as a grizzlie to. He must have really pissed someone off.

Trading Luther Head would not have gotten the Rockets back under the luxury tax. Steve HAD to be traded.

I have been saying for months that the most likely next move for Morey was to trade Steve Francis and/or Luther Head, together with cash and other considerations, to a team under the luxury tax in exchange for a trade exception and/or future considerations.

I'm just pissed that it took that 2009 Memphis second rounder to get a deal done. I wonder if it hadn't been Memphis, but another NBA team, whether Morey would have had to give up that pick. Memphis probably REALLY wanted that pick back badly.

Given the timing (the Rockets could have waited until February and maybe wouldn't have had to give up the 2009 Memphis second rounder), I'm assuming that the Rockets are specifically making a play to bring back Deke.

and he is going to get abused. Battier can not guard most of the point guards in the west. And Artest also. Rafer IS NOT 100% hamstrings are an on and off thing. Something else must be up cause this deal doesn't make sense kinda

Hope Steve gets a Nolan Ryan type professional services contract with the Rox front office.

hope he gets some burn there and i'm sure he can provide some veteran leadership since that team is so young.

if not and if he does retire, hopefully the rockets can give him a gig.

good luck steve. you will be missed.

With the way Brooks had stepped up I was hoping for an Alston for Lowry deal...

Chron.com is the only place confirming it, but I believe it. This sucks.

HAHAHAHA this made my day.. Do you actually think he would even consider signing back with this team. After they kicked him to the curb twice.

Now I'm trying to decode his message in the T-Mac thread:

TWACEY must be an acronym for something.... :D or it could just be him saying it like Tweety Bird

I think nearly everyone would have liked to see Steve Francis succeed but I had serious doubts about him succeeding because of his injuries. I'm of course not privy to how his attitude was while he was rehabbing but I'm sure that management would not have moved him if he was well on the way to recovery both physically and mentally.

I don't think management screwed with him when he was traded the 1st time or this time as well. Steve worked hard before he was traded for McGrady but he is a shadow of what he was unfortunately.

Sad to see him go, but he wasn't going to get any PT over Brooks/Head.
