Injuries and that surgery caused Francis to sit on the bench. Yes it is true he may have been washed up but what I don't understand is WHY do people want Deke soooooo bad. THINK PEOPLE. Our coach is RA!!!!! Deke was on the bench last year just like Francis. Deke was our Cheerleader. Never saw a game until Yao went down. So what makes you think this time will be different. I respect Deke and all but this isn't the team for him RA obviously doesn't or won't put him in because he doesn't work for his system. HAHAHA guys kill me when they say they want Deke but bash Francis. 43 and 31. they both are past their primes. Time to go young and groom someone.

I don't think he'll reject the chance to play for the grizzlies now. Back then he refused to goto VANCOUVER and got traded to Houston. Yes, i do think Mutombo is coming back to houston. Well the difference is that McGrady's play is actually affecting our season...where as Steve's play (or lack thereof) was not...

agree on the sentiments. the price was high but the grizzlies and the rest of league knew the rockets were desperate to get under LT after les went public with that fact last week. i did some number crunching... rockets are now $982,242 under LT. To sign Deke to the vet min today would cost the Rockets $525,466.
That would be a bad thing to do. Wafer has been useful for us. How long would the Rockets have to wait to sign Deke if they didn't waive Wafer?
Sad, Stevie never got to do squat in Houston to prove one way or another if he could help the team. I would have preferred SF prove he was a bust by playing but he never got the chance. The right move for the Rox but I for one will miss Stevie.
