John and Lance are great as always. Sean and John started off slow but they hit their stride on my opinion by April. I think the smackoff postgame show is when I actually started thinking they were actually good, the college football and NFL started and it was on from then on. Hoffy took me a long time to get into, but they are starting to win me over. As for your comments about the west of the lineup fatty, I'll post some info when I get home. And Chance's ads generally keep people listening. Him and Frankie have found a way to turn their advertising into pretty much year round "super bowl" ads. Chances stuff has always been great. I wouldn't say by a wide margin, not that quickly, but people are finally taking note that this isn't just one of those "oh look this guy thinks he can run a station, he'll flop in 6 months" things. 17 months later and they're still going. Radio "guys" didn't give them more than 6 months. It wasn't a sure thing by any means, but having John and Lance as the anchor definitely didn't hurt. With them doing their thing, Chance (among others) finally able to let their creativity flow without being chained by having to submit forms for this and approval for that, and if they do, having bosses that actually "get" what they're trying to do.
That is me. I like Marc though, but John/Lance blow him out of the water. I also like Clanton/Wex/Jackson, but they're tied in at 610 and don't appear to be leaving anytime soon. Danny Vera is no longer tied to 610 though. As far as Ware... well, he is what he is. I still like the old Marc Vandermeer show better when he had 1-2 hours after the morning show. On your maaaaaaaaaark get set gooooooooooooooo.... The Marc Vaaaaaaaaandermeer shooooooooow. (vaaaaaaaaaaandermeeeeeeer show) There is one guy at 610 who I've absolutely hated since the beginning of time...ok, maybe not until CP left the station, which finally made me realize how much he was carrying the show and how terrible Rich Lord is.
Why is Rich Lord on the radio in the afternoon? My sports knowledge is easily superior to his. I don't say that out of arrogance either. I mean like at least 5 times a day I find myself laughing at him trying to interject into an intelligent conversation between Matt J and somebody else.
