It's a moot point because he's not available to sign, but how much salary he commands really depends on the market. How many big name free agents are there and how many teams have money to sign them? Every year a player or two that thought they were going to get a big deal ends up with the MLE or a one year deal at a low salary.
I just listened to the podcast. I found it interesting that when discussing drafting Landry, Morey mentioned that Rudy Fernandez, Tiago Splitter, Aaron Brooks, Jared Dudley and Carl Landry were the guys they liked. Obviously Fernandez and Splitter haven't played in the NBA yet, but by all indications they are very promising prospects. Meanwhile, I've been watching Jared Dudley put up impressive numbers all year long. Personally, I think after Horford and Landry, Dudley was the best power forward drafted. Now, I'm going to assume he left a bust or two off the list, otherwise I'll be entirely too optimistic about our future. Seriously, you can't go wrong with that list.
