I heard Clutch's talk about Ron Artest, he said Ron did not have one good game in last six games, Morey would have a tough decision to make as if the rockets are going to resign him or not. A caller, Chad, still thought we had a game on Tuesday, that is fun.
I'll be on with John and Lance at 7:45am to talk NBA Draft and Rockets trades. You can listen online below and/or call in at 713-439-1560. http://www.1560thegame.com
Please address: Seemingly likely draft pick trade targets - Milwaukee, Minnesota, OKC, Memphis? Is Rondo acquirable by Rox, and would the Rox be interested? What is the level of satisfaction with 'Browery?' Thanks - make their show great!
Recap: -Pretty quiet on the Rockets front. -Almost more than likely going to have a pick -No trade may happen today or tomorrow but something will happen along the lines. (Player wise, not draft pick wise) -Rockets lacked size in the playoffs, so why Amar'e is the top target. -We cant or dont want a straight C, rather someone who can play PF and C. -Landry's name out there to aquire a pick, which they would select a PG and ship Brooks out if a deal like for Stoudemire would happen. -Brian Cook becomes an expiring trade asset. -Good chance a deal will happen sooner rather than later. We want or would like a deal before the season starts. -Someone else like a Barbosa would be included in a Amar'e deal. Not him particular but another piece would be coming back. -Amar'e may want and we may have to give a contract extension upon a trade. -They're not dissatisfied with Brooks or Landry but are looking to use them to upgrade the roster as a whole. -Rip Hamilton was being considered but Clutch hasnt heard anything in weeks so thats ptobably a no go. -Overall, it looks like Amar'e is our target. No trade may happen within the draft but something may happen along the lines, sooner rather than later. We'll just have to wait and see!
Suns will be over LT by around $7.85M next season. In a T-Mac + Brooks deal for Amare. The Suns would want to add at least Barbosa to even out the salaries. However by only including Barbosa it adds a further $1-2M to the Suns LT situation. If the Suns really want to get their LT situation in control. By including either Nash or J-Rich. They would be slashing $6-7M from their payroll. T-Mac + Brooks for Amare + Nash or T-Mac + Brooks + White for Amare + J-Rich
Yeah, but Clutch said he didnt really hear about Nash being included in any deal. I'd be happy if it was J-Rich or Barbosa. If they want to throw in Nash, sure, I'll take that too!
exactly what ive been proposing these past months. you package tmac + brooks + fillers for amare + barbosa/jrich. rockets get an instant upgrade at pf and a servicable sg replacement, phoenix gets a pg heir apparent to nash and a big expiring contract and one yr rental on an all star. you offset losing brooks by getting a pg in a draft by giving up landry, who we wont need anymore if you do get amare. difference being is that id thought that phx would want a young pf as well. we could dangle dorsey but im sure phoenix would rather have landry. maybe phoenix would be targeting a replacement from another team or via draft. boy, this offseason is surely exciting
It's prayer time folks. If the splash I hope will happen happens? Rockets tattoo, site contribution and nice Sunday offering.
