Wait are you saying that if he started ringing the doors of rich people in mansions, then they would all come flying down the stairs to open the door for a stranger who had just been shot that late at night?

woo, so glad nothing serious happened to laudry, and he's OK now. I guess all those lines he ran in practice literally saved his life

wow, very scary situation. Landry is lucky to be alive. I can only imagine what was going through his mind when this happened. I'm sure he was running on pure adrenaline after he got shot.

I'm glad Carl Landry is okay, but do you guys think he make the
right decision running away? And leaving a girl all alone in the car
with those 2 guys? I'm not accusing anything, just wondering...

Based on the events described, it sounds like if he decided to stick around he would have gotten shot to death. And maybe the girl, as a witness, would have to. So, yeah, I guess he made the right decision.

I just asked my sister the same question. She laughed in disbelief at first that Landry left that girl in the car and ran away, but then she came up with the
same conclusion as you after a min.

I think the more laughable thing is that this woman has become some sort of footnote in this story that is not even talked about. I didn't listen to the radio interview yet, but saw the rockets.com one and landry doesn't even mention the woman at all. It's like people want to pretend she doesn't even exist. Very odd and fishy.

Read the article. Its about US smuggled guns to Mexican drug cartels. Where's your source about Columbia being the biggest weapons supplier to Mexico.

Crime can happen anywhere, but the chances of a car being sideswiped twice like that, then a guy shot at, then chased down, somewhere on richmond are very low. In that area of downtown the difference between a high traffic area and an almost abandoned street is a block, maybe two. It's very possible the blocks you walk are near stores or homes, which may not be safe, but safer than the area Landry was in. Either way, i think its not so much that there's criminals living or roaming the area daily, but that the isolated setting and abandoned warehouses/buildings make it a perfect place to pull a stunt like this.

    INFO ABOUT WOMAN!!

I guess not many caught the updat ei posted in the other thread yesterday. KHOU reported Landry and the woman both ran. Since no one reported she actually stayed in the SUV, just that she wasnt hurt, i think this sounds about right. Also, dont forget the investigation is ongoing and although Landry gave a lot of details, he did also say he couldn't say EVERYTHING because of the investigation. So it's possible he's not mentioning who she was for her safety or because maybe the police told him to withold that info. Maybe she's even being investigated herself. We'll have to just wait and see.

God damn thats some scary stuff. I hope they catch them and put them in the general population in Harris County Jail. I know there are some Rockets fans up in there.

Actually that area where Carl is staying is a nice area. But when someone is looking for someone they can go anywhere. What it sounds like is they was after someone with the same model veichle as Carl and thought it was him.

I wonder what the criminals are thinking to their selves. Probably was saying "what the f%^$ I shot a famous basketball player," more street cred, they would say to their friends.

1- doesn't someone on clutchfans live across the street from Carl? has he said anything?
2- I think he was not at home when the attack happened, he was driving
3- if you ring doorbells at 2:30AM in river oaks or any nice neighborhood across the US, people will avoid opening the door at all costs- its common sense, and its for your own safety.

You can tell he is still shook up from the experience and understandably so.
