The same reason why they have a team full of wing players. Its the warriors, led by nelson. Really camby for battier wouldve been great. Camby on this team with martin would be a 6th seed.
The Warriors aren't that inept. Wishful one sided thinking on your part in your never ending quest to rid of Battier.
lol you managed to read and selectively quote my post yet managed to respond to nothing and continued to have the exact same auto response. when you started this thread and when you replied to my post did you know that battier and ariza's minutes have dropped significantly in the past 5 games? I stated it and underlined it yet you responded as if you didn't know this fact. in the past 5 ariza (since his return from injury)has been averaging 31 mpg v 37 mpg for the season. Battier has been averaging 25 mpg v 32.5 mpg for the season. 69.5 mpg - 56 mpg = 13.5 mpg. That is a 19.5% drop. It is also interesting to note that if you throw bud into that number then you see a drop of 28.5% mpg for the bud battriza combo. 89.5 mpg down to 64 mpg in the last 5. Imo bud has been lost in the shuffle but I think the mpg declines for battier and ariza are permanent. Like I said in the post you replied to I think Adelman will get back to playing bud his 20 mpg and I think this is a short term issue for him. BTW Is there a reason why you didn't want to post that bud has been averaging 20 mpg for the season? Is there a reason why you didn't post that hill's minutes have skyrocketed to over 21 mpg in the past 6? If you read my question and responded to it then you would have seen that Adelman has been more than willing to "develop" Bud over the season.
Nelson doesn't like wings that can't run. He has shown that he would rather pick up a wing in the developmental league that can run, before selecting aging veteran players. If Nelson wants another wing to the line-up then he will just grab another D-league runner. Nelson may be crazy, but he ain't dumb enough to pick up a player like Mr. Intangibles. You are overrating Battier.
Errrr... the minutes have gone to Kevin Martin not Bud. Bud is currently the odd man out with the 5 man rotations on the 1,2 and 3 spot. So even at your expectation that Battier and Ariza's minutes are going to be same for the rest of the season, where do you think the minutes going to come out from?
well i guess it's gonna be from battier's minutes since he has a hyperextended knee. i can't imagine he will be back quickly from that.
Sorry, you "tanking hopefuls." Err...sorry the "bench the starters, develop the younger guys." We're not giving up.
Actually I said the same thing earlier in this thread....post 68....thank you very much. And Robbie, IMO, one of Trevor or Shane should not be playing as they are redundant. I am not happy that Shane is hurt, but I think he needs to take his time getting back. DD
You disappoint me with this thread, DD. It's quite knee-jerk after a loss to a potential contender in Boston. I think we still have a 50/50 shot at catching San Antonio given the remaining schedules. See this post of mine: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=5193920&postcount=6 Basically, if we win all the games against teams with worse records and lose all the games to teams with better records, and San Antonio does the same, with the exception of us beating San Antonio, we'll have the same records. Except, the thing is, we'll have the tie-breaker. Hope spring eternal, and I think threads like this are trash.
TSchmal, I can respect your optimism, I just don't happen to share it, and think we should start next year now. Kind of moot though now......Shane being out gets the same results, though I am not happy about him being injured. DD
Is there something overtly, unrealistically optimistic about me assessment of our schedule vs. San Antonio's?
I would much rather fight for a playoff spot than give up on the season. They have all summer to "develop" these guys.
If the Rockets win that game, that means you have the Spurs losing 4 home game in a row, and losing 8 of 9. There's no way a veteran team like the Spurs with a great coach like Popovich will allow that to happen. Hollinger's playoff odds gives the Spurs a 99% chance of making the playoffs. The Rockets have merely a 2% chance of making the playoffs. We haven't been mathematically eliminated, but it will almost take a miracle.
like another injury to ginobili But i agree, the spurs rarely go into long funks like that. They usually find a way to wake up, even if its their lesser known players that step up.
Not to mention a lot of the games that people have the Spurs losing are late in the season when the other team might not have anything to play for. I think this season is over.....just my .02. DD
In the second quarter Adelman ran a lineup of Lowry - Budinger - Ariza - Battier - Hill and it was fantastic.
I am sure that works against some teams, but for me, I would rather take out Shane or Trevor and insert Martin. BTW - who scored all the points that quarter? DD
