If chase wants more playing time, he needs to outplay Battier or Ariza or Martin. Just like how AB outplayed Rafer.
Arguably Chase has played on par with them both and better at times as well. His impact offensively in a limited role is far superior to either Shane or Trevors......and his D is not as good as Shane's....but close to Trevor's D. The dude needs to play, we are not going anywhere this year, why play Shane at this point? We know what he can do, he is not going to magically get better, he is as good as he will ever be, and actually is declining. DD
I believe the work hard, play to win mentality had a substantial contribution to the development of Chase and Jordan, so far. Besides, I'm sure Morey'd be able to move up in the draft, if he really wanted to.
PPG, Shooting percentages, efficiency......and he is only 21 years old....heck Trevor has been pretty bad this year overall..... DD
Evidence ?? Just kidding, I disagree, I think Chase is way better than Trevor on offense and on D, Trevor gambles too much, but is better by a bit. Honestly, I would rather Trevor be traded, and keep Shane, because he expires.......but I think one of Shane or Trevor needs to go.....Budinger will be better than both of them, and really soon. DD
And what makes you think budinger will "magically" get better if he got an extra few mins a game? Like i posted on here earlier, the major improvements are made in the offseason when they can take time to go through hundreds of reps. It's not going to come in game situations. He's played enough where he's shown what he has to offer this year. This summer he can develop new weapons and next year he can show them off.
I think I rather have the team try to push themselves to the playoff, allowing our players to obtain important playoff experiences. Kevin Martin only had ONE year of playoff experience, and he is vital to our success. What happens to a young team with no playoff experience? Look at what we did to Portland last season.
Not playing your best team available is called tanking. Development for the future is just a nice way of saying tank.
Well.... shane/yao are still here. ariza replaces artest, brooks/scola more experienced. I honestly doubt more playoff experience will help that much. then again....i honestly doubt a few games of development of budinger/hill can help or hurt all that much...for this year playing them don't hurt much, and playing them really doesn't help that much compared to what summer/next year will help them with.
DD how many minutes per game has budinger averaged this year? and DD you do know we just got another swingman back from injury. chase has been the odd man out since ariza came back. HOWEVER...your battriza combo has averaged nearly 14 minutes less per game since ariza's return. rick looks like he is trying to move ariza back to his traditional less prominent role. he is only playing around 30 mpg versus the 37+ mpg before the injury. i think he will address bud's declining minutes since ariza's return. he has been more than willing to play c-bud all year so just relax.
Not sure what you are getting at, he has been around 7 minutes these last few games. My point is that he needs to be playing a lot more...and Shane and Trevor a lot less. DD
C-Bud needs to come in alternatively when Ariza or Battier are struggling offensively. If Chase starts getting beaten repeatedly on defense, either one can replace him. It was understandable that his minutes were cut after Martin's addition, but he is too good to be riding the pine.
Of course, you are all about Budinger, but haven't said anything about recalling Taylor from the D-league to play 20+ minutes to develop in the NBA.
Personally, they should've traded shane when they traded the others. When they were completing the deal for martin, the shouldve had golden state on the phone trying to get bell and his expiring or get camby and his expiring. A move like that wouldve opened up 30 mins per for chase and given the team a good young trio at the swing with martin-ariza-camby.
Why would Golden state wan an aging SF with no ability to run that would bog down their fast break offense and take up their cap space?
