You don't TANK...you play the young guys more minutes...and if they win...great ! DM should sit down and have a general philisophical discussion about direction for these last 15 games. DD
The only thing i see that we can realistically do is cut Chucks minutes. Its true that Chase is the odd man out. I really do not see Adelman cutting shanes minutes nor trevors or martins.
Mmmm...No. Still sticking with Rick. Look, he IS playing Hill. He's playing him plenty of minutes and in crunch time as well. He just isn't playing Budinger as much. Which, as we all know, is the real reason you made this post. I'd rather get a good lottery pick, too. But I'm not ready to call the Coach out because he doesn't want to tank. Epecially when there are 15 games left. You're acting like they're 9 out with 10 left to play.
Chase isn't.....Shane and Trevor get too many minutes, both could use some more pine time. Budinger NEEDS to be on the floor....he is the future. And it is nice to see Hill get more minutes, but he should probably be starting.....sit Hayes. DD
I don't think our players would agree to give up now, although the chance to make the playoffs is really small. They never gave up before. Otherwise, we wouldn't have 22 winning streak and the game 7 to play against the lakers. This is the identity of this team, and this is why I love this team.
I still hold out hope for the last playoff spot. And I still think, if they got that spot, that the Rockets could get under the Lakers' skin and amazingly clown 'em. (!!!!!!! YEAH and you don't stop !!!!!!!) That said... I wholeheartedly agree DD's OP - that the young fellas fundamentally need to get more and more minutes as this season wanes. At least have Shane and Chuck take a backburner seat... yeah, sounds right to me.
WTF? Dude, chill out, this is an internet message board, if you don't like my opinion, big deal. I don't think I am the basketball god...I know it. And be careful as a God, I might just smite you ! DD
With CBud I think he certainly could handle more minutes. He's very athletic and can shoot the ball. Plus he flat out gives you production most nights. But, defensively a bit of a liability...and our defense doesn't need any help getting worse. In the case of Jordan Hill...lately he has been playing good minutes. Considering the situation he came from, and being a rookie, I think he should be happy with his current playing time. The idea of playing the young guys for development and resting the potential playoffs on how they perform is questionable. But certainly not potentially a realistic plan. But for me, I can't help but want to just play the primary rotation and hope that they can carry us into the 8th seed. But a topic like this, is really just a matter of opinion and strategy I think. Hard to be wrong or right.
Budinger is certainly a real nice player, but I wouldnt say he is the future. He can easily be traded this offseason if we get a nice deal for him.
DD threads like these are against the fundamental concepts of competition. Frak giving up! You compete until there is no chance to advance.
No one is giving up, you just look to the future......NOW ! Next year, is the focus...well.....actually the year after, but next year they are going to give it a go with Yao. I got the number 2 pick ....Evan Turner when I ran it.... DD
budinger's value can't get any higher this season. battier and ariza both need to play to boost their stock.
You think Shane's stock can be boosted by more PT? I can agree on Trevor, but I think Shane is known around the league and people that want him will still want him even if he rests the remainder of the year. DD
with older guys like shane i think teams would wait and see on a buyout if they're spending time on the bench. teams seem to be always buying out or accomodating (give away) these type of players with trades.
