True. I guess you could argue we are in win now mode. But when you conscider that Mcgrady's contract expires in that magical 2010 year, When you conscider that Yao's skills translate over a long period of time, and when you conscider that Artest is an expiring contract, THEN you conscider that we do have a few young pieces with landry and brooks, we have legitimate shot at a title for atleast 4 or 5 more years.
The way I see it, most teams will either start off with a bang and taper off come playoff time, while others will start off modestly and peak right in time for the postseason. Contrary to what many of the downers on the boards think, the champion doesn't always have the miracle year the Celtics achieved last season. Call me crazy but I sure do prefer the latter... It seems to me like things are turning around for us.
Let me make it right for you: Anyone who does not think *THIS* Team will not make it out the 1st Round Is NOT on CRACK.
You are completely right, but you are thinking very pessimistically here. There are things that are "wrong" about our team. But what about everything that is right? Thats the point of this thread. Everyone likes to be negative, when there are twice as many positive things to say about this team than there are negative things. Only one team wins the championship every year. I don't think its smart to completely lose your **** when we fail to reach that goal. Besides, if championship is the goal, thats decided in the playoffs. So how smart is it to complain about **** that is happening in December? Its still 4-5 months away.
I got one. No one who does not disbelieve *THIS* Team will not make it out the 1st Round is NOT on crack.
Read both of my posts in this thread again. Especially the first. If you still think the context of my original message was negative or pessimistic then more power to you. Paraphrased, my original message is while I recognize that we're not that good RIGHT NOW and we have plenty of fine tuning to do, I still have confidence in this team it's just a matter of time before I think we're prepared for the postseason. The last message you just quoted was me responding to somebody that feels we might not necessarily be in "win now" mode when in reality that's 100% the case. With Artest possibly only being around one year and everybody else getting older, "win now" is the mindset you need to carry. With the WC being as wide open as it is it only furthers this case. It's not negativity. It's not pessimism. It's reality and part of that reality is realizing we're running out of excuses.
How fragile the division lead is .... Get crushed by both the Grizzlies and the Clippers? This team is not great, barely good and often horrible. Again, they'll be fortunate to make the post-season and even if they do, they'll be out soon enough (read first round exit).
We are 15-9 now. The way I see it, that puts us 1 game ahead of Pheonix who is currently 9th in the West.
Spurs and Hornets are at the top now, We are neck and neck with Dallas right now. BUT remember this guys, this has been the BEST START of a Rockets team since T-Mac has joined the club in 04-05. So, I think it's a pretty good start, especially considering we are a "late team" and really start playing around January.. So, let's not panic right now, Everyone is basically neck and neck in this conference now except for the Grizz.
Noooo, we are better than any previous T-mac team, and still have yet to have our top 6 players play together in a single game...
