I like the kid Kyle Carter from Georgia. He is only 5'6" or so but he is their best power hitter and is intentionally walked all of the time. The problem is that he can often hit the intentional walk pitches. Even if it is only a single, it spooks the pitcher/team for the next time he is up. Oh yeah, he is also their best pitcher. He has struck out something like 90% of the players he has faced and his pitches are 75 mph plus. I saw the end of his regional and he was hitting 81 mph in the 6th inning.
I think I heard the announcers talking about him. They said his height is a disadvantage cause the mound is so close in LL. It takes him longer to get his hands around.
If he's a pitcher is would be good, but not as a hitter. There are a lot of high school basketball coaches drooling right now.
How does Saudi field a baseball team? I bet that it's a bunch of expatriates' kids playing for the Saudis...no one else over there even knows what 'baseball' is. Regardless, I hope the Rockets have their scouts all over this kid, if not, I can get a couple of my friends in the area to do it pro bono...this kid could become our next backup Center when Deke decides to retire in the next decade or so.
It is a bunch of expatriates. ALL of them are from the same company. Aramco's compounds are where they all live.
