Teachers only get involved if it's blatant, but they usually only hinder the situation. I remember in 10th grade, we had this one dip**** who decides he's going to call this big, black gang member a ******. So naturally, the big black guy and one of his friends start fighting the kid. Now, the *******'s real short and it's a two on one fight. So he's getting his ass kicked (deservedly, but that's beside the point). A teacher comes by, and he decides that the best course of action is to restrain the kid that's losing. Which gave the black guy a nice window to throw one or two more haymakers.
