    The wage increases in the new agreements are the most substantial in decades – with average rail worker wages reaching about $110,000 per year by the end of the agreement. When health care, retirement, and other benefits are considered, the value of rail employees’ total compensation package, which already ranks among the highest in the nation, would average about $160,000 per year.

    Yeah, the expected average wages for longshoremen in socal made my eyes pop out but they are the lifeblood of our economy.

    Like I wrote I don't begrudge them but I really didn't pay attention to this thread at the start. I've known of a few people who worked for the railroad who started in the 50s who have since passed and the guys I know now have done very well. I responded because of some of the earlier posts of people who think they don't

    Pretty much every union pays well
    It would have been interesting if they had a strike , hampered the economy, and then the numbers would have started coming out and the public reaction

    Some folks think for one moment that Americans would be okay with canceling Christmas because folks making 85k are demanding sick leave then their brains are broken worst than @Os Trigonum .

    Biden did the right thing by getting them a huge wage increase in November and then working behind the scenes for delivering sick leave. He'll get no credit from the far left

    No doubt there is some political motive to be pro labor/pro union, but there is a good amount to like about this deal.

    Statement from President Joe Biden on Tentative Agreement Between UPS and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters


    I applaud the Teamsters and UPS for coming together, negotiating in good faith, and reaching a tentative agreement today that will avoid a shutdown at UPS. While this agreement still awaits final ratification by Teamsters members, today’s announcement moves us closer to a better deal for workers that will also add to our economic momentum. I’ve always said that collective bargaining works by providing workers a seat at the table and the opportunity to improve their lives while contributing fully to their employer’s success. This agreement is a testament to the power of employers and employees coming together to work out their differences at the bargaining table in a manner that helps businesses succeed while helping workers secure pay and benefits they can raise a family on and retire with dignity and respect.

    Our company ships thousands of packages with UPS daily so we were making contingency plans along with every other company, so I breathed a sigh of relief for this yesterday. Good for the workers......................just one thing, stop throwing my packages like your Justin V LOL :D

    Congrats, the drivers make more and the company does well...............win-win-win, and I am the third win
