10 days? That IS exciting. The draft is where the Rox can do the most for themselves, long-term.

I don't expect DM to stay at #14. He will move up or down, like he said. I hope it's up!

Then, we go back to waiting for something else to happen.

The Rox have 3 picks in the next 3 years, plus Bud, Hill, and whoever could be replaced by a high pick. I think, over several moves, this is enough to move all the way up to #2, to take Turner, or maybe to #3 to take Favors.

Can you imagine last year's team, minus maybe Bud, Hill, and Battier, plus Yao, Turner or Favors, and our MLE signing? I think that's a couple of years from championship level.

2 months without a Rockets game have gone by, and there are 3-4 more months to go in this off season. Hopefully something interesting happens in the draft.

I counted 5. There were a couple of future second rounder picks as well.

I actually think the rockets will stay put and buy a second round pick or if they don't stay put I think they will move slightly up on the draft

If only the NBA didn't have the gay rule about not being able to announce draft trades. We actually have to wait for a while before knowing if the Rockets traded up or down.

i say he'll make a trade draft night.. I feel he will move into the top 5 and we'll be a 14th pick/ possibly also a Knick pick and a Hill/Shane or Bud short as a result

George is a one way player and I would be very surprised if the rockets drafted him.

Funny. I was thinking the Rockets had a bunch of one way players. I would like a two way player, but those are very hard to get at 14. Generally the two way players at 14 are really no way players as neither their offense nor defense is good enough for the NBA.

he can be taught how to play better defense..Hes only 20 yrs old and is a 6'9 shooting guard he can shoot the 3 , has hops, and some handles. Why not if he's available at 14

I agree. Put a young player who is an under average defender on a good defensive minded team, and he will make strides. Sadly Kevin Martin has been in the league too long to join with the rest of the Rockets.

You know, people need to stop saying DM 'missed' on Dorsey. To me, a 'miss' is if the pick was just completely wasted. Remember, Dorsey was an asset in the deal which brought us KM and all of that big convoluted deal for Hill and the picks etc. It wasn't just Landry we traded away.

The fact that Dorsey didn't stick with the Kings and might not have stuck with us, well, we still got value out of him which allowed us to not have to part with Bud or Taylor or something of greater value. Had he been an obvious total washout bust at the time, the Kings could have demanded someone else.

Anyway, the one thing I am sure of in this next draft is that we will all have built it all up so much, filled with so much anticipation, and then when it finally happens, we will all be left with yet another WTF moment, feeling confused and positive that DM has finally lost his mind. And then 8 months later we will all be going OHHHHH I get it now. Duh.

He's got all the athletic tools to be an effective defender.

I wouldn't trade for the #2 pick. It is almost always a huge bust.
