http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/news-and-notes-chasing-rabbits Many players would take the night off, but Chandler knows how much the Rockets need him and is doing everything humanly possible to try to play tonight and is entertaining the idea of playing through pain.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Rockets are listing @<a href="https://twitter.com/chandlerparsons">chandlerparsons</a> (shoulder) as "probable" for tonight's game versus Utah.</p>— Jason Friedman (@JasonCFriedman) <a href="https://twitter.com/JasonCFriedman/status/274917391199248388" data-datetime="2012-12-01T16:46:28+00:00">December 1, 2012</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> Hope he doesn't injure himself again... as crucial as he is to this team. I'd prefer if he got 100%.
My understanding here (after taking like a crash course in shoulder injuries) is that this is a soft tissue injury, not necessarily a structural one, and so the risk of him injuring himself by playing is small. It becomes more a question of how much pain and tightness he can withstand while still staying productive on the court.
Sounds like all he need is a shot or toradol and he should be good to go. j/k Don't push it Chandler, it's too early in the season. Besides, Marvin Williams is out and Mook will fill in nicely.
Yep. This is basically what Chandler said in post-practice interview yesterday...Not a danger of making it worse but worried about how well he'll be able to do all of the things he feels he needs to do to be productive.
are the j*zz still running that line up from early in the season, as in starting power forwards at c, pf and sf ? if so, even more reason to give chandler more rest.

I hope Sampson doesn't play him too many minutes. The Jazz have Williams and Favors out? So don't need Parsons to tough it out so much.
If he's in pain, then he's always in danger of causing further injury. Instinctively, the body isn't going to go through the pain, it'll try to compensate by changing movement, which can result in injury, but not necessarily in the same area (Derrick Rose). For example, he may lean forward more to make up for the limited shoulder reach, which may force the back to do more work than usual.
Love Chandler. Such a warrior and team-first guy. But I want him to sit out tonight. No point risking further injury.
Parsons will get much more than the MLE and I'm not sure Morey's willing to pay the price to keep him here if we're still an average team in 2 years. But, he has amazing potential and I could see him being the centerpiece in a major trade for another star.
