The Devin Brown thing was kind of handing us a chance to win/tie, but other than that, that was just T-Mac doing his thing on what was sadly his most memorable night as a Rocket.

Which would make sense if T-Mac wasn't a perennial loser on multiple franchises. If you lose in the first round on multiple different franchises, the issue is with YOU.

i think people are making too big of a deal of that 1st round thing.

sf3 never led his team to a playoff game until yao came around. just one example. and mcgrady's orlando team, with really no one else, almost beat the pistons (but ofc he spoke too soon, lol).

the point is, what is the difference b/w a 1st round exit and a 2nd round or even a 3rd round exit. as long as you dont win it all, it's kinda pointless. under mchale/harden, we lost to the portland team, beat a real crappy mavs team, dodged a bullet (almost a sure death) from the clips mainly for joshua smith's rain of 3's. it's not a lot more achievement than the previous playoffs, really. well, at least that has been the way i've felt.

    almost never counts dude.

Yeah you're right about Steve Francis, that's why they traded him.

Not on the defend Tracy wagon anymore like swyguy but cp3 is in the same boat. I think it does make a difference how far you get into the playoffs even if you still lose. It shows you are consistent and can have a shot at something good.

Tracys ciscumstance is a lot different from cp3. Paul's team last year looked extremely dangerous but still failed. That must sting more imo.

Cp3 should get credited for helping beat the spurs, but he should take the fall for not finishing off the rockets.

    Sadly?

Perhaps in context of his career, but in a vacuum that performance is one of the greatest comebacks in NBA history. Fans throughout the NBA know about it and non-NBA fans as well.

look at things this way, tinman.

    notable stars amongst
2nd round playoff virgins (conf. semi) - mcgrady
    3rd round (conf. final) - cp3
    nba finals - harden
nba championship virgins - charles barkley, kevin durant, & 365 other great players. :p

i've said it in another thread a while back, that, after so many yrs i dont expect my rockets team to win a title every so often no more. i know how hard it is. as a fan of the game and the team, i just want to see good fight and exciting games. with this current roster i am not seeing nearly enough of them.

Yup, Harden would probably win more because he is more durable it seems

In a competition one vs one I doubt Harden would overcome the defensive beast that Mac was in Toronto and the offensive one he was in Orlando.

Harden at his best in younger years was not near as good as young Kobe or young Mac. Deal with it.

He was a great player just not the right guy for this team, yeah

Harden might not be either. There is a question mark

Swvyguy is a tof. He probably hates hakeem too. Anyone who is more successful than tmac, which is numerous.

People can't stand there's a thing called context.

Whatever you think Mcgrady did or didn't do, doesn't really matter, as he's courtside with the owner for the big games.
