No kidding. I'm enjoying waking up to actual MUSIC for the time being before they hire Walton and Johnson to start sucking dick every morning again. Then I guess I'll have to switch back over to *shudder* the Buzz.
It was actually 102.1 The Jam (a rap/hip-hop station) in the early 90s (not sure if it was before then, since i'm an 80s kid). As the 90s progressed, 97.9 became the more recognized rap station in Houston and 102.1 became Magic 102 (a old soul/r&b station)
Yeah, good call. It was "The Planet" during some point in the 90's, and it was probably the best Houston had at the time. Keep a good thing, nooooo, turn it into a Tejano station.
The best concept of a radio station is 100.3 JACK FM here in Dallas. No requests, and they play whatever the hell they want. And another thing....no damn DJs! Check it out... http://www.jackontheweb.com/home.html
I think that's a nationwide chain type thing. I've heard other cities have stations like that where they're just referred to as some man's first name like Bob or Jack.
