I turned on my radio while driving to class this morning and to my surprise Walton and Johnson was on! and then I realized they were playing an older recorded show from around July. Sucks...
They bashed Bush a lot too and only gave him a lesser of two evils endorsement. Anyway, how is the new format performing? I hope it bombs so bad they have to switch back.
Too true. This is a bit of what I posted in the wrong thread, before I read this one (too much D&D)... I know some of you are old enough to remember when DJ's played, at least to a degree, what they felt like, however the spirit moved them. I don't listen to "rock" on the radio much anymore because it's become so "canned." Heck, the "classic rock" stations tend to play the same damn tunes over and over again. RMT, you know exactly what I was trying to say. And R2K, I feel for you, buddy.
That is just wrong! 101 was the only station that played good hard rock all the time. Stupid ass station... Aggravating.
I had a friend that had already emailed KTRH's speakback address about this and it got sent to the regional VP, who responded below... biggest bunch of crap I ever saw. but there is his contact info.....get to it mad Houston rock fans.
This was funny! The first song listed on thebuzz.com's playlist is: MEXICAN RADIO BY AUTHORITY ZERO hahaha. I thinks theres a conspiracy here.
You should have heard him on 950 last Friday. Despite regurgitating how hard a decision it was and how much he respected the station's history, he still managed to take "playful" little shots at 101's former demographic. He came off as a complete ass.
He IS a complete ass. He comes on the air like he is some sort of on-air-wannabe instead of the program director that he really is. I think he likes the attention, that's the vibe I get when I hear him. Plus, I'll never like the guy who took Phil Hendrie off the air.
I wrote him numerous times about that one. Trust me. Just to play devils advocate, he did take the time to read all my emails and replied back to every one of them, much like he did with R2K's. Not many higher-ups would even bother to read them, much less write back. And if not for him, we wouldn't even know who Phil Hendrie is. He was the only one with the guts to bring him here in the first place. I can't imagine life without Phil. I would be like Bud Dickman. On another note, I once wrote him about bringing in S&P to the 950 morning slot. He said he seriously considered it (which surprised me) but didn't think the advertisers would like their style. He mentioned more than once what a fan of S&P he was.
