That man is a hero in amatuer astronomy circles. a lot of people love that man and some talk of him as if he is a legend. I remember hearing how he was the guy who while peering through his telescope noticed that there was some sort of separate mass of something tailing the Hale Bopp comet. And soon after that there was that whole heaveng gates cult mess, and then some idiots were blaming him for being partly responsible, which was just stupid. He was just observing and reporting something, and never said what it was or what he thought it was. It was just peculiar. but he had to deal with all sort of nonsense and attacks and i think he passed away soon after that.
yall boyz got sumthin against us spics?! no one be listenin to rock here in h-town anyways reggaeton goes hard an all dat latino **** fo sho
This sucks. All it does is keep me listening to CDs and Sports Radio since CC killed good music radio anyway....still though, the death of an institution is always sh!tty. F*ck you, Clear Channel!
Favorite Uncle Waldo: Uncle Waldo goes to a dance but is insecure b/c he has a wooden eye (yes, wooden eye). He sees Queen Aretha & thinks see looks good. He wants to ask her to dance but is insecure of his wooden eye. Big Bruno: Uncle Waldo, why don't you go ask Queen Aretha to dance? Uncle Waldo: uh...I don't know. Big Bruno: Go ask her. I bet she won't notice your wooden eye. So Uncle Waldo nervously goes up to Queeny to ask her to dance. Uncle Waldo: Uh... Queen Aretha would you like to dance? Queen Aretha: Wouldn't I...Wouldn't I...Wouldn't I... Uncle Waldo: Ah, *** u b*tch I didn't want to dance w/ u anyway!
Man....I hope Walton and Johnson get back on the air soon..... But it won't make a difference considering they won't be on the ait here in College Station anymore. booooo.......
My favorite Uncle Waldo was one from the old west where Uncle Waldo was playing an Indian and had his head stuck down on the ground. And the punch line was along the lines of why was his head stuck on the ground/what was he listening for??? "Buffalo come."
97.1 The EAGLE here in Dallas is gone too. They replaced the only channel that had "Mandatory Metallica" with Sunny 97.1 mix of the "60's 70's 80's & 90's"... right now it's 24/7 Christmas music... Quite a shock when I went to check in on the Metallica segment only to hear a jazz version of "jingle bells." I too thought it must be a hoax... But no. Sad to hear about KLOL... and the EAGLE in the same week. RIP Rock Radio...
Yep I was really confused last time i was in Dallas and their was oldies on 97.1. Clearchannel has ruined two of the best radio stations in TX with that and 101.1. Both of them went down the same path too. From great channels to set playlists of crap to changing formats. Thanks clearchannel
101 gone...bummer.... That station signed on the month of my birth I think (July of 1970) I remember when this city supported 2 Rock Stations...101 and 97 rock (I think it was the latter that had Moby and Hannah Storm...though my memory is hazy) Anyway I concur with the Clear Channel sucks sentiment...I don't mind Spanish Music being widely represented...but damn...can't there be room for both.
any of you dallas boys remember Q 102? that was the rock station for years in dallas until clear channel bought it out and shut it down. then they did it to the eagle too, saying it had low ratings. and now it has struck down here in houston. it apparently took place in san jose too. check out clearchannelsucks.org for more information on how crappy this corporation really is.
That's horrible! 97.1 was the station I listened to most when I visited Dallas. ClearChannel blows! I came across this on Yahoo. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=320&e=1&u=/khog/20041112/lo_kprc/2453436 I particularly liked where smoke was blown up out collective asses: "We found that there was a definite void in the market for this type of format reaching the Latino youth," said Alfredo Alonso, senior vice president of Hispanic Radio.
Ah Ah Ee Ee Tookie - Tookie! Quick! Dial 390-9393 and caller number 9 will win 4 tickets to the Olympic time trials at the AstroArena!!! Now let's get back to spinnin' the hits! This is Dexie's Midnight Runner's brand new hit song "Come on Eileen"
I called in requests to Crash when I was in first grade. I think the first one was Stairway to Heaven. That's what happens when you have cool older brothers.
