I don't want superficial women who will be impressed by $100+ jeans. No thanks. Levis or Wrangler are just fine.
I hate having to pay more than $50 for jeans, and I'm female. They're just jeans. Buy some and move on. If you're male and you definitely want those expensive jeans because they're so beautiful, then you're at least metrosexual. And metrosexual = "just go ahead and come out of the closet and save everyone the trouble". If you want them because they impress women... well, depends. Maybe some superficial women. Depends which women you're going for. Many wouldn't care what jeans they were as long as they were reasonably clean.
It doesnt matter what type of jeans you wear for the girl, cause your jeans should be on the bedroom floor while you hammer it.
Wow Kam, just wow. I'm pretty tall and I like my jeans to be long on me, so I usually have a pretty hard time finding jeans that fit right. The most I've ever paid was around $70 for a pair of Lucky's.
I like to wear cool clothes for gigs. I buy lots of stuff specifically for that or at least things that I can mix and match for work and shows. I just cannot spent $80-$100 on jeans for one simple reason: they wear out too quickly. A well-made shirt, a cool jacket or a nice pair of shoes can be kept for years and years, worn over and over. But, any pair of jeans I buy is going to get beat up, particularly at gigs when I have to load in/out, tape down cables, crawl around on the floor hooking up pedals, etc. I buy jeans that can be replaced for less than $40 bucks (Target, Levis Store, Gap, Old Navy, etc) - the closer to $20 the better. Since I probably go through at least a couple pairs of jeans a year, I can't see spending a ton on them. For me, jeans are utilitarian. I wear them pretty much every single day for everything from work to gigs to working around the house. It would be like buying $30 plain white t-shirts or a $10 pair of socks. It would just be a waste of money.
Jeff, that assumes that the more expensive jeans are not made of better material and can last longer. My pair of Sevens have taken a beating and look brand new. I firmly believe that they are of superior quality than some of the other jeans in my closet that cost a lot less.
I do not know why a heterosexual male would spend $100 on a pair of jeans. If quality is the reason, I would much rather buy 3 pairs of Levis and keep life interesting instead of buying 1 pair of $100 jeans. A pair of jeans should be a pair of jeans and not some sort of investment.
I think it is pretty safe to say that I will never spend $100 on a pair of jeans. I hate spending money period on clothes, so no way I am going to overspend for something like blue jeans, LOL.
agreed. expensive jeans are a waste of money, IMO. of course i waste my $ on other expensive clothing items, so i'm a hypocrite.
Didn't expect this many responses so fast. I think I'll take SCF's suggestion and try out Dillard's for the Lucky jeans. Maybe they're on sale. Typically, when you're in a club or bar it's too dark to see what kind of jeans you have on anyways. The important thing is to find a fit that works for you. Typically I go with the boot cut as they go well with my Nike's or my black/brown square toed shoes.
I say gay, if not metrosexual. At the very least, a dumb shopper unless you can guarantee on purchase that they'll last for years and never get old on you. I've had $100 pairs of jeans (gifts) and those that think that it lasts much longer than $40 pairs are delusional. old navy and aeropostle and those type of places may not have a long life, but once you get past the second tier, i say all the same, and if you can tell the difference, you like sausage. Besides, i don't like to keep jeans long because i never wash them and they always end up getting paint or blood on them. I pay $50 for dress jeans and $40 less for anything casual.
I grew up poor, so if I'm not buy 20 dollar jeans and pants while I'm in China (well made but with cheap labor and not a international brand) I scourge the clearance section of all stores. I got this nice pair of slacks at GAP for $5, the crazy thing is that it was actually a size 28 which fits me. It alway frustrate the heck out of me shopping for clothe in the states, it seems that any store that's not banana republic don't have anything smaller than a size 30 waist. And I'm refusing to pay more than $25 for a pair of pants.
You guys are ridiculous. Just because someone dresses well and spends a bit of money on it doesn't mean they are a ***. Most of you guys are either just angry because you have little fashion sense, or you jump on the "OMG THAT GUY IS A HOMO" bandwagon just because you feel insecure not being on a bandwagon at the moment. Now if you are one of those guys that doesn't care at all about fashion and doesnt want to spend the money, thats cool. Just dont throw around the gay or metrosexual label because you cant imagine someone spending more than 20 bucks on some jeans. It makes you look like an ignorant ass.
