    Garbage.

The first two repeat bands are Led Zep and... AC/DC? Please. There's too much bubble gum/80's hair band hard rock on there.

The first 25 songs on such a list should belong mostly to Led Zep and The Who with sprinklings of Hendrix, Aerosmith, and Van Halen.

Garbage. The fact that Led Zeppelin only appears twice on that list, with Kashmir and Whole Lotta Love is simply ludicrous.

And I agree... putting Guns and Roses at #1 is simply nauseating.

Only one Rush on that list?

    Trash list.

Some of those songs should not even sniff the top 100.

The person who wrote that list must think Celin Dion and Mariah Carey are Rock singers.

Decent effort for VH-1 standard. Looks like they started adding in filler the last 20-25 songs.

    *Might as well post it*
    Winger over ALICE IN CHAINS?
    Evanescence........
    Welcome to the Jungle maybe top 15, and I'm a 90's & 80's guy.

This list is better than their typical effort but it's still not very good. I really laughed at 75, 95, and 96.

I thought this list was created by an online poll.

Seriously, has there ever been a poll like this that everyone agreed on? I watched most of it just because it's sometimes kind of cool to hear musicians talk about other musicians.

And FWIW, I would have put Won't Get Fooled Again at #1.

    10. Ace of Spades – Motorhead
    9. Runnin With the Devil – Van Halen
    8. Walk This Way – Aerosmith
    7. Smells Like Teen Spirit – Nirvana
    6. Won’t Get Fooled Again – The Who
    5. Enter Sandman – Metallica
    4. Paranoid – Black Sabbath
    3. Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin
    2. Back in Black - AC/DC
    1. Welcome to the Jungle - Guns N’ Roses

Nothing at all wrong with this list. Sure, there can be differences, but these are fairly popular and good songs - although I don't think I know Ace of Spades. Back in the day when I first started listening to music, I read this list of top 100 albums of all time, with the usual Led Zeppelin IV, Dark Side of the Moon, etc. At #27 was Derek and the Dominoes "Layla," and at the time I said, "Who the heck are they? No way they deserve to be on there!!" (not realizing this was Clapton and Allman, and that it is one of the top 10 best albums ever). That's what stupidity will get you.

I agree with the "Won't Get Fooled Again" at number one. But, really, the first true hard rock/metal song, the one that coined the term "heavy metal," is "Born to be Wild."

I think once you get into the top 40, it's not that bad. Many of the songs at the end of the list are forgettable or some I'd never heard of before. Then they added some alt-rock songs like Everlong or Bring Me To Life that didn't belong on hard rock lists.
