congrats! This is great...I saw the vids last week and happened to tell one of your stories to someone at work this week. Then I come check on the thread a week later and see it's blown up. Amazing
Yeah I read this last week, then saw it mainstream and immediately thought, "maybe the ClutchFans thread was really just someone else posting a link to someone else's videos...let me check again." Nice. You should call up a random phone number and claim that the person's computer is running slow, has a virus, and needs expensive software to fix it. Guaranteed rejection.
That's what SHE said! <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/MTFCpBPhgWA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
haha. I actually found out about this through Yahoo's homepage last night. Pretty cool that's it's from actually one of our own.
same here I had seen this thread but had not kept up with it until now. went to yahoo to check my fantasy football score and saw the article. Pretty awesome stuff man congratulations.
I repped you earlier for posting your idea. And now I'll rep you again cause it went viral. Well Done. I'm also gonna try this 100 days, 100 rejection soon to get over my fear. Is the fear going away for you yet?
The fact you are actually getting famous for this is pretty incredible. Congrats man, and I hope you get to make this in to a very successful documentary. Bring me along as a PA or Camera man, ill show you all the best spots to get hookers.
So I'm late to this thread and after reading that Yahoo article I'm wondering... what did Jackie do that was so special? She said herself she does that kind of thing all the time...
She did something that is sorely lacking in this world. She was open, kind and did her best to help a customer........Not to mention she did NOT charge him for the order. Are there other people out there like her? Yes. But it is still awesome to see one of them get the credit they deserve.
The fear can never be gone completely, and rejection still hurts. However, I'm so much more confident than I used to be, and I can cope with rejection much better now. If you check out my first video and today's, I'm almost a different person. The journey has been incredible.
Do you think video-ing it and putting that up online for thousands (now millions) to see has added to that? I feel like I may not experience a ton of change from straight rejection if no one's around me. I mean, it's still rejection, but at least there's less embarassment potential (or that fear at least). But with the camera on and knowing it's going online...I think the embarassment is always a potential and would make it a much scarier experience.
I'm glad the OP's experiment has made him a better person... even if the way he did it is unconventional. I had to go through tough times too to become better, and I'm thankful for everything.
1. Try it yourself. There is no embarrassment when you look for nos. 2. Don't take yourself too seriously. It helps a lot.
