    His biggest failures were

    1. Hiring Mchale and the crappy coaching staff.
    2. Extending Corey Brewer

What is this about a team without chemistry? They were had the same roster ladt year, and they were very good. Who the hell knows what happened this year?

I was looking up to see how many more years Morey had on his contract and noticed that he became gm in training in 2006.

It has been 10 firkin years I was 23 when I joined clutchfans I am now 33.

    Time has flew by.

But yet here we are still in the same place as we were 10 years ago. Looking down the barrel of a lottery pick season.

    I agree.

    That was a colossal fail.

Giving Harden McHale was the mistake, should've kept Adultman

needed someone with actual plans not just a motivator

McHale would be good as a player assistant or something for locker room respect.

I've said it many times before, and I'll say it again.

    A. What are the key goals for the GM (new or old) that you believe need to be achieved this offseason?
    B. Who is the best & most qualified GM AVAILABLE to meet those goals?

    -Morey
    -Hinkie
    -Rosas
    -Ferry
    -Battier
    -I. Thomas
    -Barkley
    -Dumars
    -Billy King
    -David Kahn
    -McHale
    -Dunleavey Sr.
-Coach/GM (Thibs or JVG type in dual role)
-Other (please name me who and why)

    ???

I'm okay with the Rockets moving on from Morey, but I need to know those two things first if you want to be taken seriously here, and not just b****ing.

I mean he implemented a strategy of taking a ridiculous amount of 3's with a team full of crappy shooters.

I actually agree with his philosophy of not shooting mid range. But you can't win without a competent coach and players who can shoot.

Never understood the bolted philosophy without the right size nuts.

Honestly. It doesn't make sense. We have absolutely no one on the roster who can consistently shoot the 3 ball. Not even our savior harden.

Am I missing something here? Has more said that his philopshy was the 3 ball? I believe he got the part right with driving to the lane with JH but never understood the 3 game.

Be careful what you ask for. You just listed a fairly good set of accomplishments (and there are plenty of other successes left off that list). Plenty of room for significant dropoff from that. Yes, he's also responsible for the current mess, but that doesn't invalidate all his successes, either.

Lets not rewrite history. We signed McHale to be the coach to wade through a rebuilding process.

We had the right pieces in hand when Harden became available. McHale was just starting his original contract when we Morey landed Harden.

The point I was trying to make with this thread was that Morey has been here for 10 years and has done some positive things, but if it was going to happen with him it would have happen by now.

Harden and Howard was his crowning achievement. We got his best. It is time to move on.
