I skipped my 10th, but didn't mind doing so since I lived in another state. Went to my 20th and had a blast. I don't think 10 years is enough time for alot of people to change, but at your 20 year you will be amazed at how much some people have changed.

I'd say skip the 10th. I did. However, I had a genuinely great time at my 20th. It was really cool hanging with some of those folks -- many of whom I went to middle school with as well. I found myself more connected to people I didn't really know that well in actual high school. Pretty cool.

My high school didn't do a reunion. I guess that's just a product of the facebook generation.

I didn't go to my 10th, but I regretted it later. Will probably go to my 20th in another 5 years.

Oops...wrong thread. reunions be damned! lol

guys show up to see how the girls turned out and vice versa. everyone wants to see the really hot girl in high school be the fat slob nowadays.

and, then the nerd in high school who shows up with the chiseled abs and is CEO of his own company.

I think this is the main point a lot of people who say to skip are missing. You say that everyone you want to keep in touch with, you already do or have already caught up with in FB. But there are probably people who you didn't really know that well then that you'd find you'd like to know better. Or maybe you didn't like who they were or they didn't like who you were, but who's personality would be right up your alley 10, 20 years later.

Meh, have considered it each time (let's just say I'm past 10th) but never felt compelled. Went to my wife's 10th and I had fun, but I quickly realized it was because I didn't know many people there.

I know there would be some people there that I'd be glad to see, but I still keep in touch with a great deal of those that I ran around with back then, so it just doesn't seem that enticing. Of course, I'm not on FB either, so maybe keeping in touch via such seemingly artificial methods just ain't my cup of tea.

    smh

Missed my 10 year reunion which didn't bug me much. 20 year is coming up, can't believe that, but I don't know if I'd go to that anyway.

I'm 1 year from my 20th. We went to the pre-party the night before that was at Papa's Ice House in The Woodlands. Realized fairly quickly that I just don't like a lot of the people I graduated with and that I wasn't going to shell out $200 + cash bar to hang out with them again. Most of my friends were from earlier or later classes. Undecided on the 20th. I would have been better off going to the 92' 20th that was this weekend. Had more friends there.

I went to my wifes this past year and it was actually a lot of fun.
found out a guy I worked with was a big man on campus and got to give him loads of crap about some chubbers fawning over him all night.

because I only knew maybe 4/5 people through my wife (and work) I wasn't subject to the awkward "we really need to keep in touch..I am serious" conversations all night.

snuck into a couple "time for shots" moments as well. preesh there fratties

Facebook for sure dulls urgency and that long-time-no-see "special moment" feel for reunions. But its kinda relative, cuz the fact you do have more contact with old mates can entice you more when you might not normally do it.

Reunions the 20th and after far more signficant. The "yay we're still ALIVE!" gatherings.

Made an ass of myself defending Houston to a bunch of losers who had never been here at her 10 year reunion. It's the only moment I can think of in our marriage where I can imagine she was embarassed to be associated with me....I'm guessing she can probably remember a few other moments like that. :)

    Reunions are fun.

My favorite reunion story was from my wife's 20th. A girl named Brandy won the 'most changed' award. In high school (s)he was Tim.
