Crazy to me any forced birthers can object to this poor abused girl having an abortion. Stay the F**K out of peoples lives. It's not your life, you shouldn't get a say.
The mental trauma alone is incredible especially for a 10 year old. But theres no way her body, even if she was able to get pregnant, would be mature or healthy enough to carry an infant to term without severe physical trauma or even death for both of them.
And Jim Jordan called it a lie, in a tweet then found out it wasn't and deleted it..... That guy is a ****ing ******* too. DD
I feel sorry for their little girls if they would force them to carry a baby in that situation. That's adding physical and mental trauma to the trauma that poor child has already gone through.
So a 10 year old doesn't have a right to an abortion because an illegal alien was involved? How is that detail in any way relevant to what happened here?
It started the entire event. How is that not relevant? Letting criminals freely cross your border has consequences.
Sadly I expect to hear more stories like this of rape victims and / or people with risky pregnancies having to travel because they can’t get an abortion in their own state.
This story is being used to make an argument for policy by pro choice. So in that case we can look at the story for other policy. In my opinion, which you are free to disagree with, the rape and impregnation of a 10 year old is a very bad thing and policy to prevent it would be a good place to concentrate.
And how does one’s immigration status affect whether they are a rapist? If he had raped a 10 year old in Guatamala would that make it less severe of a crime?
Ohio alone had 6500 cases of sexual assault of a minor last year. US citizens commit crimes too. The vast majority of cases of incest involve US Citizens. You really can only go two ways. Either you believe that minors that are victims of incest have a right to an abortion or you don't.
Two separate issues. One we can't prevent and one we can. We can’t prevent all rape of girls, whatever our immigration policy. We can do something about punishing the rape victims (not allowing rape victims the choice to have an abortion is punishment on top of a tragedy).
Considering the law has an exception for danger to the mother, I don't think this case is a great argument against it.
Hypothetical again. Amazing. Pretty sure if neither were US citizens and he wasn't in the USA, he could not be charged with any crime here. There is an exception for health of the mother in the Ohio law. Considering no one thinks it healthy for a 10 year old to give birth, the policy I find more relevant is the prevention of the crime.
So if it doesn’t happen in the US then no big deal? yes this a horrible crime and the guy should be punished. Whether he committed the crime as US Citizen or back in his home country it’s still a horrible crime. Prevention of the crime could’ve happened in many ways.
