Trying to come up with some ideas for my ten year anniversary coming up in a few months. Me and the Mrs really don't vacation much and this would be the perfect time to get away for a few days. I got about $2000 give or take to spend. Any suggestions?
Thanks. We'll be in New Orleans sometime during Mardi Gras and we've been there a few times already. Want to try something different. Haven't been to Vegas since I was an adult. Is that a decent couples locale? SA? Not a big fan of the town or their team. Gotta google Seattle, ferry, etc. Sounds interesting. Thanks.
Houston's only like a 2-3 hour flight to some pretty solid Caribbean destinations like Belize, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Turks and Caicos, etc. Not sure when your honeymoon is, but the rain doesn't let up in the Pac NW until late-May/early June. Vegas is a great place to party and gamble, but not a honeymoon destination imo.
10 years is the perfect time for a 2nd honeymoon. Agree with Baqui99, you need to find a resort on a Caribbean beach somewhere and get away from it all for a week. That's what we've already decided we're doing for our 10th.
Yeah that sounds cool. Passport required? Sorry but I'm a complete novice at all of this  And thanks again to all you boys. Reps to all. Y'all are awesome.
Vegas is a blast but unfortunately it will take more that the $2K budget for a 3 night long weekend. Have you checked airfare to places these days? It's gotten really expensive.
To the places listed above that are not Cancun, yes a passport would be needed. I love getting new stamps and ish.
For the most part yes. The only exception I can think of is the US Virgin Islands (for obvious reasons).
Had ours a few years ago. We went back to the place we were married (The Faust Hotel in New Braunfels) and spent the weekend. I surprised her with the trip so she was very happy with it.
Count me as another vote for Seattle/Vancouver and Victoria. It's a wonderful region, and if you guys enjoy coffee, art, culture, and nature, you'll have a blast. Get a B&B in Victoria for a night or two, and just relax. Oh, and you'll need a passport to cross over into Canada, BTW.
Nope, I was saying he would need a passport to any of the places you listed below, as I've been to them all. Loved Belize and Costa Rica, T&C is OK but not worth the cash any longer and Jamaica sucked imo. Did not like it at all compared to other warm weather beaches I've vacationed or visited.
If I went back to the place we were married it would be a Minneapolis courthouse..................no thanks Bout to head home and continue my research.
I'd also vote for a Mexican All-inclusive resort - you can get some great deals. Although if your over 26, I'd skip Cancun (which is basically like Miami) and go south to Playa Del Carmen.
