Marc Stein of ESPN, who is a Dallas homer ,I might add, said the the Mavs are hesitant of trying to get Bosh because his game is too similar to Dirk's.

And to all the people who think Dallas has better assets than us, think again!

Toronto has made it known that they want young assets in return and not just expiring contracts.

The only realistic assets that Dallas has to offer Raps are Erika Dampier's expiring contract and the only young assets I can think of that Toronto might be interested in is Roddy B and JJ Barea.

We can trump their offer by giving them the expiring contracts of Jeffries and Battier and we have more and much better, IMO, young talent such as Hill and Budinger. Since Toronto loves young international prospects such as Bargnani and Bellinelli, we can offer them Llull or even Illahyu. If Toronto twists our hands, we can offer them Brooks, but I believe something can be done without having to give up Brooks. Maybe we can replace Battier with Ariza since they did try to pick him up last season during free agency.

Yes and I thanked the poster for the link but, tell me, did what Bosh say tell us that he wants to be the man on another team or did it tell us that he's content as being the man on a mediocre team in Canada? He begs for help to be brought into Toronto but I'm thinking he knows that that's not going to happen when the Raptors are paying 8 mil a year for Calderon and whatever obscene number they are paying to Hedo for the next few years.

Coincidentally, I got some quotes myself saying that he just wants to win, alpha-status be damned

The one thing Houston offers that no one else does.

The argument I've read is that Bosh can get more money in a sign&trade than through free agency.

He could, but if the destinations are somewhere he doesn't want to be, then what. All I'm saying is Durant is on pace to be a superstar who is 21. Westbrook is a top 10 guard already and Ibaka is a defensive stud in the making. They won 50 games this year and hasn't even reached their ceiling. If bosh goes there, they will be a contender right now and for at least the next 5 years till he's 30. Even then, westbrooks development will coincide with his slight decline and they will still be a power. In san antonio, they have been champions and know what its like to be champions. They have the pedigree, stability, and guys who know how and what it takes to win a title now. They can probably get him for jefferson, splitter, and maybe hill and they are creme of the crop again. With houston, you don't know because no one other than ariza has won anything and Yao is on the fast slope downwards. If all things are equal, he has better options than houston and can get the same reults as far as no income tax and warm weather.

this is going to be a great offseason for Rockets fans. I think, come October, the Rockets fans are going to be excited. Fans of particular players only might not be.

Like clockwork though, no matter who comes here and who leaves, there are going to be people on both sides of the fence arguing whether or not the move was good.

Bosh is also taking classes to learn Spanish because he's from Texas where they speak a lot of it. I dont think he even knows exactly what he wants. He mostly just wants out of Toronto.

I keep hearing that, but I have a hard time believing that is what he said/meant. Could it be that he was just joking or some reporters just took it out of context? I mean how much do the tickets cost compared to the max salary he's earned? Besides, if he really said that in public, what will his homies/buddies/relatives think of him?

    They wouldnt be imo.

In both cities Bosh would be the second guy, behind Dirk and Durant. If I am a player labeled soft and not good enough, I would want to go to a team where I can be successful and the number one option. Houston offers that, OKC and Dallas do not.

Not necessarily true. Bosh could tell the Raptors to trade him to Houston, or he walks. Provided he doesn't want to play in his home town.

Im not sure how serious bosh is about this "being the man thing", but if that's a big factor in deciding where he wants to be, then it wont be here, unless they gut this team, which would be stupid. He can't be the man as long as Yao is here. Even at 80-90%, Yao will be the face of the franchise and "the man", whether he gets the most points or second or third. I dont think bosh just wants to be the go to guy. He wants to be the face of a franchise.

For all you people who dont pay attention to details. During the All-star break Bosh already said that he would be TOO close to home if he played in Dallas and it would be a distraction to him.

Its up to Bosh on where he wants to play. He can do whatever the hell he wants but he is nice enough not to screw over Toronto.

Get your facts right. Bosh carried Toronto up as high as the 5th seed. They fell out of the playoff race because BOSH was injured. As you can see, he is that good a player that a 5th seed team drops to ninth or tenth by losing ONE player. tsk tsk

Still, Bosh has failed to make the playoffs in the previous years. This year, he had a strong as ever supporting cast. I see Bosh as another Kevin Martin type player... if we're going to give up a good chunk of our team in a S&T, I'd want to bring in an actual game changer like Wade.

    I would go to OKC.
