Yeah FranchiseBlade, I heard the interview, too. Rudy has no ego and never cares to win over the crowd. He'll rarely tell you anything about what is going on in practice and what the weaknesses of the team are. It is his style, and there really is no proof that using the media to bash the players works more than it fails. What's he supposed to do, bench Mobley and start Moochie, TMo or Hawkins? No, he has to continue being Francis and Mobley's coach, and giving them as much preparation as possible, but it is up to them to execute. In this case, Rudy stated that his coaches did extensive research of transition, and to their surprise, picking up the dribbler early is a fatal mistake. Since Rudy doesn't care about his ego or impressing people, you know this is the truth. The Hall of Fame announcer Calvin Murphy was just flat out wrong. Calvin is the one with the ego when telling Rockets players what to do. "Get the big man the ball" d'uh. "Take the shot Stevie!! He has to know when to take the midrange." ummm, isn't this proof of some decision making here that Steve is trying to do, Calvin. Quit your backseat b****ing, "Take that shot; No pass that; Now take that one; and bend your knees on free throws!!"

It's what I saw at Chicago.

Then why didn't you put it in the Game Thread.

Originally posted by Another Brother HP I'm not the site Jester I'm just Another Brother.

I know. And I didn't mean it to be about you having to be humorous all the time. That's an unfair jab for people to continuously use, and it must get annoying. But, I would have said that to anyone in the sense that if you are going to repeat things that others say over and over, you got to bring more to the thread than regurgitation, imo. Humor is one; solutions is another; a unique story, etc. seriously: I was trying to make you and Tim laugh with my first post, by mocking BBS Kenny and Rudy whines by replacing you with Kenny and Tim with Rudy, and the team with the council. no harm done, right?
Not at all HP. I'm just not in denial. You obviously haven't ran out of your stash since you seem to be unable to distinguish reality from those delusional images of Francis and Mobley making good decisions and involving their teammates that seem to be running rampant through your melon.

Originally posted by RocketsPimp Not at all HP. I'm just not in denial.

When did this happen, back when you came out of your hallucinogenic fog to realize Francis and Mobley couldn't make us 30-13 this year, like you said we could be?
Dude, I was being sarcastic. I figured would get it when I quoted you saying we could be 27-16. I've gone back and edited in the just for you and will be sure to make my sarcasm obvious to the entire BBS from here on out.
BTW, HP I still need to get you some money for the last game of the season. I lost the info regarding that issue. If you will, drop me an email, so I can get it taken care of.
RP, I thought we were still being sarcastic with each other. I was all ready to keep dueling you. When did it stop. Like I meant you were in a hallucinogenic fog. I guess you really believe I'm in denial. wrt tix: Click my email button and send me an email address that I can reach you at easily.
Sometimes I can't tell when you are being serious and when you aren't. No harm, no foul, just watch out for the out of control Francis driving the lane or he might take you out. You don't have an email button. You can send me one at tattooedgroove@austin.rr.com.
No one ever said press like the old Nolan Richardson 40 minutes of hell, bu the point of the press or pressure is to force the tempo and issue. Teams do it to the Rockets all the time and what happens? Normally we take a lot of times off the shot clock and is force into a bad or poor shot. I'm not advocating 40 mins of hell and since the defensive 3 secs doesn't start until after half court is crosseda 1-2-2 or just a simple man to man full court with Ming setting up in the middle of the paint just to jump start a sluggish start would be fine. I've seen many games where one team was struggling and the coach picks up full court just to change the tempo. Its similar to the no-huddle in the nfl. No one called for Rick Pitino in the nba.
That's not what I'm seeing and I've taped and reran all but two games this season. Maybe you are confusing this with hardly anyone on the Rockets (excluding MoT) being able to make a good post entry pass. If research dictates it's not effective to press, why does it work when opponents press the Rockets?
I guess the fact that it works when opponents press is enough to tell you that Rockets don't know how to press; otherwise Rockets would be able to handle the press. (Strange thing is even though Rockets can't run PnR well, they defend it resonably well.) Shrimpie
