Whether it's a free speech argument or a right to reuse service in a private or public establishment, the term "monkey," whether it was racially motivated or not or if Mutumbo actually resembled a monkey, has to looked at too. A one year ban from all NBA arenas seems extreme. I mean, how many times do you see players getting one year bans for trash talking? I guarantee the trash talk on the court and football field probably gets a lot worse than calling someone a monkey.
Uh, no. Let me guess, you're white. If a white player were to call a black player a monkey, I am personally guarenteeing you right now that a fight would result. I PROMISE!!!! There may be a lot of trash talking but they aren't using racial slurs. Take that to the bank. A one year ban is fine with me.

I still don't understand why Maxwell was suspended for something like 10 games, but Artest was banned for the season. I mean, all the fan did to Maxwell was insult his family. A fan ACTUALLY THREW SOMETHING at Artest. In my book physical actions are worse than words, always. I mean Artest was a repeat offender at that point, but so was Maxwell...
I like this because that's mutumbo he's calling names, I don't know if he knows this but Mt. Mutumbo is 7'2". And you guys are thinking they are doing this to him, but people know what this guy looks like and the NBA could be trying to save him from getting his taints handed to him by other fans.

Well, a restaurant has the right to refuse you if you don't wear the right clothes. Remember the phrase "no shirt, no shoes, no service". I have the right to not sell you something. So, I have the right to not sell you this ticket to the game. A lot of bars and clubs don't let you in if you don't wear a nice shirt and slacks and nice shoes. So, they can also keep biggots out.
