I still think we win the big 12, fairly convincingly. McCoy looks a lot more poised than I would've expected for a freshman. Sure, he threw a bad int, but for the most part, he made good decisions with the football. If pittman doesn't fumble, it's almost a 21 point swing. We likely score a TD, and they don't. And the time it takes us to run the extra play or two to score that TD probably eliminates the time needed for the Ginn TD before the half. Also on that play, Ross has to jam him, especially with no safety help for some odd reason. I think getting Brown back will solidify our secondary, and even if he doesn't come back(unlikely) we just faced the best group of WR's we will all year, and minus two turnovers=short fields=10 points, the defense allowed 14 points(17 if you factor in the missed 29 yard field goal).

What a crazy game in El Paso.

49 yarder off the post for the Tech win.

    Insane.

lets not get crazy, rice ain't playing with Texas. with my boy applewhite there i don't have anything against them and will root for them all season, but it better be ugly next week.

edit: rice has been outgained 390-130 so far so who knows how they've kept it close, maybe ucla has been shooting themselves in the foot Texas style tonight.

and tech had one of the more unconventional wins ever. the ol' "we just scored the game winning td, oh wait no we didn't, we committed holding, oops we got called for a celebration penalty for the td we didn't score so now it's 2nd and 30-something, who cares lets just kick a 49 yard field goal, oh whaddya know it hit the post and bounced through anyway" victory.

    My thoughts:

OSU Offense:The offense looked as good as advertised. Troy Smith played calmly and made the right passes. Ginn was very impressive tonight as well. Gonzalez looked like a freaking All-American out there tonight. Not sure if it was lapses in the defense but the guy was everywhere.

OSU Defense: Even after losing 9 starters, the Buckeye defense was pretty good. They had trouble containing the run but never gave up anything huge.

UT Offense: Colt looked like a freshman as well as the play calling. Not sure what was going on but Colt and co. never even looked downfield. 80% of this throws were going sideline to sideline. The run game was solid and Selvin looked like his former self, Charles had some nice runs as well.

Bottom line- I blame the play calling more than anything else.

UT Defense: This is a perfect example of how much we miss Huff. The secondary was downright horrible. We gave up so much cusioning that Smith was just picking us apart in the flats. There was a 5-10 yard cushioning everytime that we were basically giving them first downs. DL was okay but Crowder needs to step up.

Bottom line- Losing Huff and Brown proved to be huge tonight.

That Pittman fumble urt us bad. Why fir the love of me is he trying to stretch a TD at the 5 yard line is unfathomable. That play was the biggest killer.

Oh and in case some think we didn't miss brown consider that they kept throwing to foster everytime. Gonzalez got killer yards coz they didn't throw at Aron Ross.

There were some drive killers on both Offense and Defense that were costly. Tony Hills Jr holding on 3rd and long when Colt runs for the first down, and Muckelroy face mask on 1st and 25, Thats just inexcusible.

Colt did as well or better than any other Redshirt Frehman coul have given the meaning of the game. He made some smart throws except that one Int. I doubt Penns Morrelli, Miami's Wright, FSU's Weatherford, or OU's PT could have performed anybetter.

My only qualms with GD is that he didn't use the run enough. we were killing them with the run. there were plenty of deep balls thrown. Limas almost made a sick one handed catch and I think Pitmann lost one in the endzone coming down.

I'm dipsy and my girlfriend doesn't want me on the streets.

Rice will be the sacrificial lamb next week.

This was our toughest game this year. Pray for mercy rest of big 12.

I think one of the major flaws in Colt McCoys game is that he doesn't trust his receivers enough. It seems like every time a pass play is called, he will look at his receiver, and if they're not open, throw the ball immediately to JC or SY. He just doesn't trust the receivers to complete their routes. Notice how many receptions JC and SY have compared to Limas Sweed.

Look down the field, receiver isn't open. Make a two yard pitch to SY or JC. So damn predictable..

This just in....Greg Davis still calls a horrible game....

He did not help Colt out much tonigh, and the fumble at the 1 yard line killed the confidence.

Too conservative...played "not to lose" instead of "to win".

    The better team won.

Could UT's season be like OU's last year?

....I doubt it. UT just lost to the better team. OSU looked MUCH better. I don't think they'll drop any farther down than 8th spot or something.

Well, Longest NCAA winning streak is now held by TCU!

Just got back from austin and the game, tough to watch the game, but congrats to OSU, we just didnt show up tonight, i dont understand some of our play calling but in the end we just didnt have what it would take to beat the buckeyes. loss really hurt because i honestly believed we were going to win, i flew up to ohio st last year and was a great atmosphere even though texas fans were treated like crap. i did my part and actually was as nice as i could be to the obnoxious ohio st fans. i hope most were treated well, season isnt over yet, i still believe

Forgot to add something any other longhorn fans annoyed by this as much as I was?

Matthew Mccanaughey (however you spell it) was at game of course and I didnt mind him bein in the boxes getting everyones attention too much, but when I saw him down on the sidelines trying to pump up the team it really irked me. Who the hell does he think he is tryin to energize the team? I hated how USC always had celebs on sidelines and if your gonna be there thats 1 thing but dont make a big scene like he was....

    sorry had to vent

Matthew McConaughey has absolutely no business being on the damn sideline.... i dont think anyone in austin cares for that guy. this aint california... save the sideline for the players and coaches.

game not withstanding, i had an absolute blast today... crazy tailgating scene. i've never seen anything like it here in austin. we should do it again sometime :D
