He said "to the setting sun" which means any team west of Houston.

We are all "aging".. so it could be any african player (from another squad).

He also mentioned LA LA land and sparks (WNBA sucks) and hinted at the Kobe no-trade clause.

He also mentioned that he did not like the trade so we'd have to be giving up something pretty big (yao or tmac). Yao has been "complaining" about the RA offense.

    Possible Hou/Chi/LAL trade:
    Hou Trades:
    Yao
Battier (moved to make room for Tmac/Kobe combo)
    2007 1st round pick + more picks
    (fillers to fulfil trade)

    Hou Receives:
    Kobe Bryant
    Ben Wallace

    LAL Trade:
    Kobe Bryant
    Odom

    LAL Receive:
    Gordon
    Deng (AFRICAN!!)
    Tyrus Thomas
    Joakim Noah
    (filler)
    Picks galore

    Chi Trades:
    Gordon
    Deng
    Tyrus Thomas
    Joakim Noah
    Ben Wallace
    Picks

    Chi Receives:
    Yao
    Battier
    Odom
    (filler)

Although this would be madness. The Bulls would get Yao. Losing Yao's merchandise sales would hurt their "pockets" for a long long time. Ben Wallace's contract is also very long term.

Lakers get to completely reload with picks and crazy amounts of talent.

Bulls get the #1 center in the league and would instantly become a force in the east. However, I think there is something missing here like another team giving the bulls more incentive to do this trade.

Rockets get a super version of denver. Kobe and Tmac at the 2/3.

PG: MJ/Rafer/SF3 (does it really matter?)
    SG: Kobe
    SF: Tmac
    PF: Scola
    C: Ben Wallace

Statistically (hello daryl morey), this team should be unbeatable even if we have half the depth on the bench as we have now.

Ah... if only i were right ;) I would miss Yao

Here is a quote I found in one of the 2005 threads regarding oeilpere aka popeye (being away from any Clutchfans BBS activity for a few years):

no way les pays the lux tax, with those 3 contracts it's a sure thing. but that would indeed be a stacked starting 5.

He is a proven insider, predicting a number of deals accurately. Others that didn't happen often showed up on the chron later as deals that were in the works but didn't happen.

What about the significance of "Trade Mark" in the first post?

    Whose name is Mark?

He was walking around a mall in Houston (can't remember which one) and overheard the Francis deal being talked about by management types with the Rocks, reported it to the board, and everyone thought he was nuts. Popeye called the trade and BOOM, the impossible happened and we got Franchise. Without search, I can't dig up these threads. I was lurking at the time and avidly reading the BBS.

    Trade Mark = Tracy McGrady

Only thing that doesn't make sense to me is the that the team seems to have chemistry, why disrupt it?

Doesn't it seem strange that TMac's initials are replaced with Trade?? Mark? Is TMac and Coach A fighting?
