I think it's Kobe, the only player in the NBA with a no-trade clause that can mess up a situation (like he did with Chicago). Man, we had BETTER not trade T-Mac for Kobe. Can you tell us if TM is safe?

I know its not good to post information from another message board, but since we are speculating and trying to decipher OPs trade rumor.

Anyways, on another teams board I follow(a west coast team, but not the lakers), a poster who is a credible insider, just posted Kobe/Bynum for Yao/Battier/Head.

That trade works salary wise and fits alot of the clues OP posted. It does make more sense if the laker's are intent on dealing kobe and if the chicago trade rumors are truly dead. It would be a no-brainer for the lakers to trade for Yao, he would be the ultimate cash cow in LA. And if the Bynum was the deal killer in deals for Jkidd and JO, the lakers would definitely give him up for yao.

anyone else catch john lopez (yeah, i know) this afternoon when a caller called in saying he thinks steve wont even be playing basketball in 2 weeks, and then lopez responded "i know he wont be playing for the rockets in 2 weeks."

    ???

he sounded as if he knew something was up.... take it for what it's worth.

Not to deride your findings but the day Yao gets traded when he's NOT EVEN ENTERING his prime years is the day I lose faith in the Rockets organization.

Thats a horrible trade, so good thing it will never happen.

Outside of Kobe and being a team in the west (Lakers) i don't see anything that matched any of his clues anyway.

Isn't rocket pockets a term in Texas hold em poker where you have the best starting hand, which is AA? I'm not sure how that relates to bastketball...

Call me crazy, but this is a great trade for both teams. Bynum is going to be a 16 pts, 10 rbs guy in two years. And Kobe is much better and more valuable than Yao will ever be.

What if the Chinese government is somehow forcing the Rockets to trade Yao to LA for the large Chinese population there.

Kobe + Tmac = Jordan + Pippen, no doubt about it...

    http://forums.warriorsworld.net/main/msgs/1716595.phtml

I was hesitant to post a link since warriorsworld isn't the greatest forum(lots of immature kids). But the poster (turtle), did break the news of the warriors acquiring Baron Davis for Dale Davis and Speedy Claxton a few days before it happened, and it pretty much came out of nowhere. If some people are doubting him, why would some poster on another teams board post some random kobe trade with another team?

No need to attack me, I'm just adding a trade to all the speculation that is going around. I'm already on record for hating kobe and not wanting him anywhere near this team. I hope this trade or any other trade doesn't go through since I like this team the way it is.

NO way would I trade Yao/Battier/Head for Kobe/Bynum....

Why would you want to get two wing players and give up the one position that is a mismatch every single night?

I can't believe that Adelman would be ready to jettison Yao...and 25ppg and 10 rebound player already.

That is insane, I hope like heck that Morey isn't one of those prepetual tinkerers that ruin things by over tinkering.

This team is ready to win NOW as it is....

A laker fan wants to trade Yao, or just a Tmac fan who saw a great game for Tmac, and starts to make something from northing.

Patiently waiting for Yao to become a 25/10 player and then trading him away when it finally happens?

Because Tmac would be so happy playing alongside Kobe?

It's a horrid deal. There is nothing good about it.
