A lot of people think that the rockets fortunes really changed when they traded for Barkley. They traded too many important pieces and were never the same after that.

No... Yao is no where near close to what Shaq was. You're not being rude at all.

That's true, but Yao is significantly better than any options the Lakers have outside of Kobe. Individually Kobe is a better player than Tmac and most people would agree with that. It's pretty amazing that Kobe makes the playoffs at all with the supporting cast he has had since Shaq left. Of course being the better player doesn't always make you the best fit for a particular team.

Phil Jackson probably has something to do with that, as well...

I don't think McGrady is better than Bryant, but I don't think Bryant is much better than McGrady to the point that it is a "no-brainer" that they would make the trade. If he was vastly superior he would have taken his team to, at least, the second round. That was my point.

I will guess the cryptic message has little to do with the Rockets as well.

Feels like the first message sets up the talk of Gordon/Deng (African/disgruntled star) for Marion. If the first message is linked to the second, I would guess it is a continuation of the Kobe trade, and that the new possible trade partner in talks is the (WAS)hington Wizards. Jamison has been acting up in reports lately and a possible Arenas for Kobe trade was mentioned.

Wow. An Oeilpere post. Bringing me back to the days where I used to sit up in the middle of the night hitting refresh. I think I know how I'll be spending my day in the office...

This was eluded to briefly earlier in the thread, but is James not exactly thrilled being here? I know he wanted to come to Houston, but in light of Rafer's early struggles and he yet retains the starting job, could he perhaps be a complaining player? It would also tie in somewhat with the oh, no...not again of us taking Rafer over James.

I have no damn clue. I, like most of you, would be surprised to see something BIG go down because it seems like we've finally got a roster with which we feel like can do some real damage. But who knows.

    Welcome back, Pops. :)

I have to admit that when I first read the post, the first thing that leaped to mind regarding the word "scarry" was Greg Popovich's face (my wife has called attention to it when we've watched Spurs games). But yeah, he probably just misspelled scary.

The first NBA-WNBA trade?? Rafer and Novak for Lisa Leslie! TRADE ACCEPTED! (And the salaries match) :D

apocclass, Amare is in 2nd year of five-year max deal I think. Don't know if that hurts rocket pockets for a long time.

    READ THIS.

Am I the only one who noticed RA shrug and raise both of his hands like wtf are you doing when T-Mac pump faked, Brewer didn't bite, so T-Mac just rose up and swished a highly contested jumper?

RA was like wtf until, he saw it go in, and lowered his arms. T-Mac could not see him since his back was facing him. Oh yeah. I think it was in the 4th.

PLEASE DON'T TRADE T-MAC!!! He found his jumper.

no it wasn't just him it was the whole rockets bench, and the play was with kirilenko, not brewer, they were asking for a foul, because kirilenko's hands were all over tmac.

Now this is the BBS, Pop got it back on track.

I was going to start a post about the good old days in the GARM, but this suffices.

I am gonna stop asking pops to throw me a bone. Thats just a dumb. But I will ask something I have always wondered. How long does it take you to come up with a riddle just telling enough to make me lose sleep and want to kill myself? Is it an on the fly process or does it take lots of planning?
