BTW, I don't know who has the accurate data on this, but according to the RealGM Trade Checker, Steve Francis can't be traded until DEC 15th, and Mutumbo until JAN 1.

This guy is on to something.

    Marion definitely = complaining star

Nash definitely = aging African (he was born in South Africa)

Great to hear you're alive, and kicking oeilpere.

I sure hope this isn't T-Mac for Marion, and Diaw(setting sun-complaining star and an aging contract). Wouldn't be worth giving up Tracy for SM. But I've never heard of Tracy complaining so I'm hoping he means Stevie(although I'd like to see him make good here too), and obviously Deke. Whomever it is for(Kobe, Bibby, Marion), it has to be a team that also has an albatross contract(complaining star AND an aging contract).

Stevie, Deke, Rafer, Snyder for Bibby, and albatross?

Anyone know if the 3 month trade wait can be foregone with the player's approval?

    Yao+Steve for Kobe?

And rockets will be over the luxury tax and hurting their pockets for like another 4 years at least?

Aging african doesn't make any sense. Why would rockets trade Deke, deke can't be traded till Jan next year right?

No, but teams can agree to terms on a trade in advance.

    1) Its game 2 of the regular season. I expect us to look lost at times for the 1st 10-15 games.

    2) This holds no water no matter how you decipher it.

The first clue make total sense.
It is only stating what we already know.
Trady McGrady was/is the trade mark (also known as trade bait)

And that did you hear about the trade for TMAC and Mutombo to LA (setting sun) for (take out get this from the clue) KOBE who has a huge contract.

It is not predicting a future trade but only stating a rumor that we already know.

I just don't understand why he'd refer to T-Mac as the complaining star. He hasn't complained since he left Orlando.

After reading therough te whole thread ive come up withmy conclusions.

The first statement is just saying that Tmac had a great game tonight and without him out there we would have lost because other than him everyone looked sluggish.

The second sttement is merely stating that Kobe/Marion wants to be traded but i dont think it has anythign to do with us. I havnt worked out what the trade is but maybe oeilpere knows. I dont think it has anything to do with us though.

    Just my 0.02c

I would probably be more disappointed in the Rockets than at any other time (I usually try to rationalize everything) if they traded McGrady.

I wonder if sluggish means something... It seems like a weird word to use twice in a cryptic message.

Forget about Francis and Deke. They can't be traded in a week.

I agree that the two parts aren't connected. Part 1 is about the Rockets. TMac played well. A win is a win. But someone was sluggish and the coach didn't like it. Strong words exchanged. Probably a scoop about internal conflict between a player (most likely) Rafer with the coach.

Part 2 is about a big splash trade, not necessarily involved the Rockets. It is almost certain that it's about Kobe. It's "scary" because it will put Kobe with a good team or another star player. The teams that matched most with the clue are:

Nuggets - Martin (aging African) + Iverson/Anthony (whoever is complaining)

Suns - Marion (complaining) + Nash (aging African)
