Playing the Cougar High Card, and you think my smack is tired and old. I was just pointing out that with the exception of the last two years, while Texas has been a nice competative program, they haven't been a National Championship caliber program. The fact is I used to bet on a lot of football games, and whenever either of the Texas powers (UT or A&M) played against a national power...for the most part betting on the National Power was like free money. Enjoy last year...cause its probably not going to happen again for a long time. A GREAT year for Texas is a BCS bowl (but not the Championship game) and an average year and you get to play in the Cotton or Holiday bowl. Thats a nice strong team, and a consistant team...but its not what you guys aspire to be. And I never claimed UH was a national power, or to have a large penis. But my johnson is just a lil bigger than yours tonight. Enjoy your two games in Dallas this year.
On another note, what the hell was Matthew McConaughey doing? Jumping up and down on the sidelines nonstop as if he were amped up on meth? For those of you who didn't watch it on TV, you missed it, this guy totally r****ded, reminded me of Tom Cruise jumping up and down on Oprah's couch.
What teams do you consider to be better than that overall? Doesn't Texas have the best record and most top-5 finishes this decade? Who do you expect to win the big 12?
Man, turnovers will kill you. 2 turnovers lead to a 17 point swing overall. Final score 24-7. Congrats to Azadre and the rest of the CF.net OSU nation. Hopefully we'll play you guys once more this season.
I did not see that at all, he had plety of time to throw, was only sacked once, and was only hit a couple of times after throwing it. He was dumping off to the short receiver too quickly, IMO. The time the running backs were stopped behind the line is because running out of the shot gun was not working and was telegraphed badly. 5 OL vs. 6 defenders is not going to work, nor does the zone read w/o vince young.
I think McCoy was actually pretty decent. I think we made 3 big mistakes on offense - only one was McCoy's fault (the INT thrown directly to an OSU player). The fumble at the 2 and the wide-open dropped pass on 3rd down that led to the 48 yard field goal into the wind were killers. Make those plays and its a whole different game.
not blaming this loss on mccoy, but I think mack seriously needs to look at playing snead, especially if they lose another game. either that or change the offense up and not have him out there running.
Everybody had mistakes in the Rose Bowl. Don't forget the Aaron Ross fumble at midfield that led to a USC touchdown. As for VY's knee being down, come on. Even if that call is made, it's first and goal for Texas... given how Texas sliced up the USC defense all night, I really doubt it would've made a difference. Also don't forget the dropped INT on USC's final drive of the first half (hit Kelson right in the hands/chest) that would've taken away three more. Furthermore, while USC had a great team, their execution in the second half was superhuman even by their standards. Leinart was unreal in his accuracy and the playcalling was superb. Both teams had their share of superhuman efforts and both teams had their share of gaffes (Bush lateral, VY's knee, Ross fumble, Kelson dropped INT). It wasn't only USC with those errors as Reggie and Matt would have you believe in all their interviews the last few months.
Don't forget that we also missed a pair of gimme field goals. But as Mack said, we don't have to be the greatest team of all time, we just have to be the better team on that day. We took one at the Shoe last season and they took one at DKR, hopefully we'll meet again sometime this season. OSU showed why they are #1 and UT showed that no matter how many weapons he has, Colt is still a freshman.
To tell you the truth, there was nothing to be impressed about. The only positive about UT was our running game, the Buckeyes couldn't stop Selvin or Charles for the most part. The only thing stopping them was the play calling. We never gave Colt a chance to make plays, you could see that the plan was if your first read wasn't open...dump it off to the RBs. We threw more to the sidelines then we did up the field. As other people posted, I would blame the play calling more than anything else.
I thought they should have stuck to running the ball....keep the offense on the field a little longer...... Charles and Young looked good, but Colt has to fricken run the ball ONCE on that counter option to keep the defense honest, their ends were just ignoring Colt and crashing down on the RB. Also, MAJOR MALCONTENT...PM me, you own my Sig for the next 30 days...the clock is ticking ! DD
Just a random thought about this and blaming the play calling. Don't these coaches know the players and their abilities best? Isn't their a reason why you don't call the plays?
The running game was going good. Why didn't they just have McCoy put his hands under his centers ass, and do some play action? Maybe they will bite on the fake, and have Sweed open down the field. Does Selvin get drafted to an NFL team? I say he is going to be first day material, but probably third round.
I think Selvin will be lucky to get drafted at all. He's going to split carries all season long with Charles and won't get enough carries to show he is first day material. With that said, Selvin looked pretty good lastnight, he showed good vision and acceleration.
