The bigfoot was found back in June, they showed 2 more photos. One is a close up of the mouth the other was a living Bigfoot walking away.
So let me get his straight...2 guys come out and say they found bigfoot and have the body in the freezer but they won't present the bodies and only have photos and their own DNA samples as proof?
Not that it proves that it is bigfoot, but if you found the body of one of the most famous mythical creatures in the world, wouldn't you do everything you could to make sure you got paid for pictures of it?
I am sure they will present the body at some point........they should take their time to make sure it is all on the up and up. DD
They did mention the DNA. Three samples taken, one came back as human, another DNA of the guts that you see coming out came back as possum (they said that is probably what it ate...yeah right and the other sample failed testing.
If I found the body of one of the most famous mythical creatures in the world, I wouldn't be too worried about how much I could make from the pictures I took of it.
I'm sorry, but I don't believe you. Unless they're independently wealthy, I don't think too many people pass up the chance at tens of thousands, possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars, especially if they're a police officer. Here's a quasi-transcript of the conference: http://blogsquatcher.blogspot.com/
Do you believe this is real or fake? If you think its fake, then I absolutely agree with you because they do stand to make a lot of money from the pics alone until the body is produced. If you think this is real, these guys would stand to make a TON of more money by producing the actual corpse.
If it was real, they would release the information immediately, call in National Geographic, and the best scientists around. Why? They stand to make a hell of a lot more if it is real, than the ridicule they will endure when their hoax is unveiled.
Bigfoot Hunters Press Conference Reveals... Little Friday , August 15, 2008 The much-anticipated Bigfoot press conference Friday afternoon in Palo Alto, Calif., revealed little more than two men — introduced by a self-styled Sasquatch seeker — claiming to possess the 7-foot "body" of a "bipedal creature" on ice in a secret location, awaiting an autopsy. The men, Matthew Whitton and Rick Dyer, were joined in the press conference by Tom Biscardi, host of an Bigfoot Internet radio show, who said the men approached him with their "find," saying, "We want to talk to Tom Biscardi... They didn't want to meet anyone else." Biscardi showed reporters two blurry photos, claiming one was the mouth of the "creature" while the other was another creature running through the Georgia woods. The men claimed they "stumbled on the creature," but would not reveal more because they were concerned about it being an "endangered species." Biscardi reiterated his invitation to FOX News Channel anchor Megyn Kelly to come to Georgia and view the body, and plugged his Internet radio show. He said there wouldn't be anything more revealed Friday, but promised that he would "assemble" a group of scientists to examine the alleged corpse. Whitton recounted how he and Dyer found the "body," and said that more Bigfoots "paralleled" them as they were loading it onto a flatbed truck. Biscardi said Whitton and Dyer had gotten death threats from Sasquatch fanatics, whom Whitton deemed "psychos." None of this was likely to dissuade skeptics, even among Bigfoot experts, who questioned Biscardi's past ventures and noticed that the body in the freezer looked a lot like a Sasquatch Halloween costume available on the Internet . "It definitely looks like our costume," Jerry Parrino, owner of TheHorrorDome.com, told FOXNews.com. "This 'body' has little to do with Bigfoot and everything to do with a Sasquatch costume that someone developed after watching too many gorilla movies," warned Loren Coleman , who runs the influential Cryptomundo blog devoted to strange and unknown animals. "The teeth that seem to have been placed in the mouth could be my late mother's false teeth." "I've had interactions with Tom Biscardi in the past, and based on that history, I would say that anything he is involved in is suspect," Idaho State anthropologist and Bigfoot investigator Jeffrey Meldrum told Scientific American . U.S. Fish and Wildlife Reserve spokesman Tom Mackenzie told the Associated Press his agency isn't taking the claim seriously and won't investigate. "It's not on endangered species on any list that we've got," he said Link
I honestly don't know if it's fake or not. I was really into Bigfoot, the Loch Ness monster, etc. as a kid, so there's a part of me that'd like to believe it's real. But there's nothing I've seen from this story so far that sways me either way. If this is a hoax, there's no way that these guys can believe they'll be able to pull it off for much longer. And when it is shown to be a hoax, they'll be known as frauds for the rest of their life. But, people are idiots, so that doesn't mean it's necessarily real. If it is real, I don't know how they make a ton of money by producing the actual corpse up front. I think it's the whole why buy the cow when you get the milk for free deal. I'm sure they're envisioning auctioning off autopsy footage to the highest bidder, pitting all the magazines against each other for the rights to the photos, and peddling the video of living bigfoots they claim to have to the highest bidder. They claim that they're going to have an autopsy. And the "Bigfoot Hunter" named Richard Klein from Stanford University as an expert he wants to look at it. He said Klein gets back from holiday on Monday. Klein seems legit: credentials. I can see that it might be that the body is real and these guys are poorly orchestrating their plan for making money off it. So, in summary. I don't think there's any proof either way as of now. Their behavior isn't necessarily consistent of it being a hoax or real. The only thing I wonder is what they're thinking if it is a hoax...
Good point, however, I personally think that these 2 guys stand to make much more by auctioneering the corpse to the highest bidder. If real, I'm sure National Geographic, Discovery, or some private buyer would put up millions for the body. And while auctioneering autopsy footage, photos, videos, etc...is a pretty decent idea, I'm not sure how much people/companies would be willing to pay for this since it could very well be a giant hoax. And history certainly is not on their side.
exactly what i was thinking. if its real, then come upfront. its their job to convince everyone its real. going in todays press conference no one believes its real...so you come out lay the body on the table...seriously...hell have scientists on the table doing an autopsy while the press cover it. right now, after that press conference...i think the majority of people are going this is BS.
Well, I'm sure that two good ol' boys from Georgia have all those authorities you mention right there in their rolodex. I'm also sure they have the credibility to get those authorities to come down to look at the body without any proof. How are they going to make money by just turning it over to National Geographic and to scientists right away? It's just like if you found a buried treasure chest somewhere. You would want to do everything you could to make sure you kept the treasure. With these guys, it's pretty clear they think that they'll make their money off the photos of the body, the video of the creatures, etc. So they're doing everything they can to make sure they get paid for it. They say they're bringing in a Stanford Anthropologist, that seems like bringing in "the best scientists." I just think it's obvious that their behavior, while not proof that the creature is real, isn't proof that it's a hoax either.
Well, whatever they do, they should do it quickly. There's this thing called decomposition that affects dead bodies - even ones that are in a big igloo cooler.
If they really had the body, they would show it to reporters TODAY and then set up a facility and CHARGE people to come and look at it.
I agree with everything you say. I guess that the thing that sticks out to me, that I haven't come right out and said. Is that it's possible that these guys just aren't very good at PR. We're so use to slickly run campaigns that amateurs seem stupid to us. Even though the "Bigfoot Hunter" is a smooth talker, it's possible that he screwed up by announcing the press conference before he'd lined up an autopsy, etc. I think that their plan seems to be, IF the creatures is real, to hold this press conference, have this Stanford Professor they mention and others perform an autopsy, and when they verify the creature is real, then start auctioning off the "good" stuff to the highest bidder. But, what do I know...
