Scola may be a realistic option for a team like Atlanta, playoff team that either needs to get better or rebuild, that isn't going to win anything without making a change. However, they do not have an available big man that is an upgrade. But, a front line of Josh Smith/Chuck Hayes makes a lot more sense defensively than Hayes/Scola or Patterson/Scola.

Another realistic option would be Chicago, if they fail to win it all. They've got Boozer and Noah at the 4/5. They may be interested in an upgrade involving Scola if it included getting Lee. Would they give us Deng and Asik for Lee and Scola???? Would we want to do that deal??? (I wouldn't because Deng is overpaid. However, he would be a significant upgrade offensively and defensively at SF. He'd be a good fit at SF for us.) Something to think about. This deal would require cutting into Battier's for Asik's salary.

How about Scola/Budinger/pick to Indy for Granger and Hibbert??? (I wouldn't do this one either. Hibbert is not a better center than Hayes. So, there's really not an upgrade in interior defense here.) But Indy may do it.

Phoenix??? They'd probably take Scola for Lopez and Childress. (I'd have to consider that one. Childress would be an upgrade at the SF.) And we may even be able to get them to upgrade their draft pick they are giving us from Orlando at #23 to their pick at #13...if we want it.

Lakers??? If they don't win the title this year, they may try to move Bynum. Don't know if we want him or not. But he's your big center. Maybe they consider Scola and Thabeet for Bynum???

Charlotte?? Przybilla S&T'd plus Stephen Jackson along with the right to switch first rounders in 2011 to us for Scola/Hill/Bud????

    Just a few ideas.

Of course, I still like the idea of adding Kaman without trading Scola, just giving up Thabeet/Miller, a couple million dollars and a future draft pick.

    Have you considered the Thunder?

They are the team most needing a scoring PF right now. They are young, but already contenders.

IMO, they'd be the ones willing to get Scola without problems, Rockets could get decent picks and young assets from them (usually what Morey likes to get).

They're not trading Perkins. Can't see them giving up Ibaka either. Aldrich and Mullen have no trade value.
