Assuming the we don't fall apart throughout conference play and that game means a lot still, I definitely agree with you. You all have to remember that Texas is the number 10 team in the country right now and that raises the intensity a lot.

When KU comes to play on a Saturday with the game on CBS, Reed is going to be rocking.

No doubt Texas is a big rival, but I think that is less important than them being very good right now making the game big in and of itself.

How do you figure a regular season game as a major sporting event?

A better question would be...Can the Ags win any major sporting title?

Well, needless to say that the Horns won't win any major titles as long as A&M keeps beating them.

as an Aggie I will say that t\Tech feels the same way about us as we feel about Texas....they step it up big time with us and we don't match the intensity, We step it up against Texas, and Texas treats us as a second rival the same way we treat Tech.... kinda reminds me of the Rockets (Tech) and Spurs (Texas) and the Mavs (A&M)

I'm not denying that. But calling a regular season game "a major sporting event" is kind of silly.

Mavs are Tech because they have no rings. Anyways as an Aggie I will say this. I have lots of respect for UT. Tech? Jesus Christ I hate their fans and 2 gimmick coaches. Not to mention their joke academic situation.

Maybe so, but I would think it more accurate to call #10 against #23 a "big game."

I understand that statement for football, but I have a big ol' NCAA rulebook right next to me, and nowhere does it say you have to beat the ags to win a basketball or baseball championship. Perhaps you can point out the page for me? I might have missed it.....

PS Last year the horns split with the aggies, and the year before they won two of three. How is that always losing to them??

Round 2 tonight ... The Ags sure could use a big win tonight after blowing it to Sean Sutton

Beginning of this game feels a lot like the last game only in reverse

Very good start by the Horns. I'm sure the Ags will make a run soon. UT needs to keep hitting their shots and stop taking the stupid ones.

The horns are free stroking it now ... Game over. They've showed how they've beaten some of the best teams in the country tonight. If they can shoot like this they are very hard (almost impossible) to beat, especially when you play like the Ags have.

Boy am I glad I'm not watching this in a movie theater!! ... haha

I must be Kryptonite to the A&M basketball team. Haven't seen them much this year but I saw them get blown out by Tech, lose Saturday at home against Oklahoma State and tonight they are getting destroyed by UT. Today's game they are running into a buzzsaw. The energy level on defense by UT is almost inhuman and Augustine has finally found his shot. This reminds me of the Kansas at Kansas State game a couple of weeks ago where KU just wasn't going to win and everybody knew it a few minutes after the game started.

Eventually the Aggies will play a good game while I watch.

Very good start so far. This is probably the best defensive intensity UT has shown all year long. And, yeah, DJ's stroke is back after a long shooting slump.

UT has shot 16 three's in the first half! But if you hit 6 of them, that's acceptable.

He's right, it really is the truth. OU is a much bigger rival than A&M to Texas. MUCH bigger. I for one am not even into a rivalry between A&M and UT, I don't even care, I am much more interested in OU/UT football, but the A&M/UT basketball games do get better and better each year.

Also, the UT fixation for A&M does get pretty annoying. I mean, I don't even see any kind of rivalry shirts/stickers/etc. for any school at UT. No anti- OU, A&M, or even TT other than the occasional one here or there, however, every time I have to drive down 290 I see about three or four pick-up trucks with "Saw 'Em Off" on the back. I don't know, it's just a little sad sometimes.

There's only one way to describe this game...

    A-S-S K-I-C-K-I-N-G

The Aggies are a good team. UT just kicked the living s*** out of them tonight. Should be scary for the rest of the Big 12 that, not only is the rest of the team on fire right now, DJ is back. They just went through a stretch of @ OU, @ ISU, KU, @ Baylor, and A&M undefeated. Get through OU on Saturday and KSU next Monday and they should be able to coast to the regular season title (own tiebreaker over KU).

I can't see UT maintaining that kind of intense effort the rest of the season. You rarely see that kind of intensity sustained for such a long period during one game. Today was a combination of UT's "out of this world" defense, A&M being totally unprepared for it and Augustine coming out of his slump.

Next Monday at K-State is a can't miss game for me. KSU is a very undisciplined team and if UT can apply the same shock therapy to start the game, KSU will crumble. But if KSU comes out motivated like they were against KU, it will be hard for UT to win. Right now I'd call it even. KSU has home court but UT is a more mature, smarter team.

The Longhorns played exceptionally well tonight. They completely and totally kicked our ass.

Congrats and a tip of the hat.

It was your night. You played well on both ends of the court tonight, and kept the Aggie shooters out of rhythm.
