Kobe actaully brought the team close in the 3rd with his shooting. But Lakers will fall to any team with an elite PG.
lakers only need to trade for a cp3 stopper and they win. simple. the problem is there's no player that can do that.
My goodness how dumb are you? He shot 3-12 in the first half and 11-16 in the 2nd half. He single handedly cut the lead to 4 at the end of the 3rd, but the PG play and Steve Blake(who has been playing amazing) out with an injury, you get these results.
A few days ago, I watched a video of Kobe's (and Derek Fisher too) first summer league game. He had the exact same release and it was obvious he was far and away the best player on the court. This season so far, KD has exercised better shot selection by reducing the number of long 2s and taking more 10-15 ft shots. Like the announcer said, my opinion also is Kobe hasn't felt this good in years and is enjoying some exuberance. He feels like a millions dollars. Who can blame Pau for not expecting that pass?
Even Lawler & Smith, the most biased commentating crew in the biz, eventually conceded midway through the 4th that Kobe's "as amazing as he's ever been."
Steve Blake can't stay w/ CP3, even though his shooting would've made it closer. Lakes may look to get JR Smith from China before the playoffs. The guy can play decent defense if he puts his mind to it, and can absolutely catch fire off the bench. Right now, Lakers won't win it all as their team stands. But with their management resume, you never know
Don't worry man, a lot of people on here tend to look at the box score instead of watching the actual game. Kobe was horrible first half and he brought them back altogether. BUT as much as I love Kobe's performance I really wish he would try to establish himself as a facilitator in the beginning and if it doesn't work then just take all the shots in the game if he wants too.
You really are an ignorant **** aren't you? Disregard teammates? Please tell me one person he should've passed more to that was doing so well?
Good point. He really does look much healthier this year, much props to his work ethic. Hopefully he does involve his big men more. Bynum is a much better player this year, and Gasol simply needs more confidence and you need to be more involved to do that. Kobe actually has a great team this year, with defense. Hopefully he'll take advantage of that. He should save some of that exuberance for the playoffs, not now. They don't need him to jack up shots like this every game to win. HIs team is actually very talented.
Kobe was 3-13 to start the game; shouldn't he not shoot anymore then according to your logic? NBA players can get hot at any moment.
I watched da whole game. I been postin in this thread all game. Dont worry man, a lot of people one here tend to look at one post instead of reading the actual thread.
I'm responding to what another guy was stating. He was saying disregard teammates, acquire points. I don't think it works that way. Kobe went after points simply due to the fact that no one else was getting it done. Yes I admit he started out horribly during the first half, but hey that's what you get with Kobe. He'll make you wonder wtf he's doing taking those shots but he'll make up for it later.
Lol, why you mad though? How could any of his teammates get into a rythm if they never touch the ball?
Damn Gasol. 7/17 today and he didn't play good defense on Blake. Lakers have to address the glaring hole at PG
Let me give you a sequence of possessions during the game. Kobe had taken the last 2 shots, next time down, he rose up for another shot but instead passed to Pau. Pau NEVER expected it. He did expect Kobe to shoot. On another sequence, he got doubled beyond the 3pt line. Instead of immediately passing to increase ball movement to open teammates, he took 5 dribbles on the perimeter looking for a shot before passing. As a result, his teammates couldn't do jack as the shot clock winded down. It's not about Kobe taking shots. High shot attempts are fine as long as it's within the offense. Kobe isn't doing that; he didn't do that the past 5 games despite him scoring like crazy. If Phil Jackson was still coaching, he would have called out Kobe after tonight's game. If Kobe keeps doing this, it'll become a trend that is hard to stop. You can afford Kobe to do this if your team sucks. But the Lakers have 2 big men who are feared. bynum started the year with 4 straight double digit shot attempt games. Since then, he has had TWO in 7 games. What's the difference do you think?
you have to have balance offensively. it's nice he's getting points and i enjoy watching ot but freezing out your teammates and making them shoot shots out of rhythm is not a good look especially in he playoffs
