Not even Mo Taylor. Mo Taylor had some athleticism back in the day. Big Baby lacks even that. Big guy but he's short and can't jump. Think smaller, less athletic Tractor Traylor.
He did. He's down to around 280, iirc (was at 330!? early on). The question is, can he maintain that? Some even want him to slim down more. As for the Mo Taylor comparisons -- if he's the offensive player Mo was, he'll be pretty good. Mo's biggest deficiency is that he was a terrible rebounder - even in college, he peaked at 7 boards a game (5.1, 7, and 6.2 freshman-junior). Davis, on the other hand, has averaged 8.8, 9.7, and 10.4 rebounds a game, freshman-junior year. He's a good rebounder. The questions are on his defense, height/length, and athleticism, as well as maybe a bit of bball IQ/attitude.
whoever suggests sean williams is an idiot. we dont need a pothead on our team. SG/SF would be the easiest position to fill in the draft that can step in and produce right away. Brandon Rush Morris Almond Derrick Byars
Personally, i'm more interested in seeing what a package of the #1/Head could get us in terms of trading for an already established player. I guess i'm going with the "win now" approach.
That would be me. I said Mo Taylor w less athleticism and more range. He can't rebound. Joseph Jones is another guy I also think is overrated.
Any chance of trading like our #1 and Head for Sheldon Williams? Would be willing to throw in JL3 and Novac.
I'd like Brandon Rush myself personally. We need a big, athletic guard that can score and match up with the bigger 2's and 3's of the league.
The problem might be that we are trapped by three years of the winning now era. Is there time to abandon it? Maybe have T Mac take off the next year or two to rest or play occasinally.. Yao, barring injury, will just be hitting his prime in 3 years.
I really, really like this guy. He probably will be picked in the second round because of his behavior but is a first round talent. If he can stay focused on the game he can be what Stro was supposed to be for Houston at a 2nd round pick. I would trade for him!
That is the second of the two 2nd rounders the Rockets traded to acquire Mike James from Milwaukee back in 2005.
I haven't seen this Crittenton guy play, but based on hsi profile, he sounds liek an excellent guy to get. Having a 6'5 PG will make it much easier to pass into the post too. If we picked up someone with his alleged skills, we could possibly deal Alston for someone with more experience and a more consistent 3-pt shot. Maybe Damon Jones. What I worry about is that if Alston is our starting PG, V-Span can't shoot, and this Critterton guy also apparently can't shoot, we'll have a lot of problems.
Only if that player is KG. Otherwise, package Head & the number one to move up into the lottery. Why settle for Almond or Tucker when there is a chance to get Brewer, Noah or Fernandez. Rockets need more finishers. I am not sure about the PGs in this draft - all are so raw (with the possible exception of Acie Law). Huge upside due to athleticism (Conley, Crittenton) but very inexperienced and lacking in shooting range. This team needs an experienced general - FA may be the best way to address this position if the team has any hope of contending in the near future. Steve Blake Steve Francis Or trade Rafer, Juwan and future picks for a vet like Jason Kidd, Andre Miller or Delonte West.
Udonis Haslem wasn't even picked in the 2002 draft because of the size (6'8), but he finally made himself as a legitimate PF in a champion team. Lonny Baxter was picked that year because of NCAA champion Maryland, but he went nowhere. Another dark horse Gator, David Lee, is only 6'9. So the size is only one side of the coin. You should have GM in the draft like Thomas.
