Pretty decent starting lineup (obviously better than ours), plus Sam I Am is an insane clutch factor and leader. This was before Brand had turned into complete crap too.

You also can't understate the ability to draw fouls and attack the basket. Maggette and Sammy were great at that. Mobley had been earning a reputation as lockdown defender on that team and Ross was proclaimed as a defensive stopper as well. I think they had a thinner bench than ours, just slightly, but their go-to guys "mesh" better as a unit.

You happened to choose a year where T-mac and Yao played only 31 games together, which even for their fragile-ass bones, is really really low.

Plus the fact that the third best player was probably...hell, Bob Sura? Juwan? Maybe dark-horse all-star Rafer?

I'm surprised the Rockets even won that many games.

so dunno why you threw in that crapper team. you could have just said "hey look, sam i am and mobley advanced to the second round!!!" which wouldn't be news except I guess it is the Clippers.

    Yoyo,

    how did this happen?

    Offensive Rating: 101.6 (29th of 30)

    when we have:

Tracy McGrady age 26, a former scoring champion

    how did this happen too?

    Arena: Toyota Center ▪ Attendance: 636,110 (28th of 30)

I thought Tracy McGrady had tons of fans and Yao has billions of fans, why was our ranking 28th in attendance?

Because for half the season either Yao and/or Mac were out, and no one wants to watch a starting lineup of Stromile Swift/Juwan Howard/Ryan Bowen/Jon Barry/ Rafer. NO ONE

You're seriously asking this about a season where our two best players and damn near our entire starting lineup (Swift, Anderson, Sura) was out for much of the year? WTF?

It's because no one in Houston watches the Rockets anymore. And Yao fans are all in China.

Clutchfans is not representative of most of the Rockets fans, I don't think. We're fairly ardent in our support.

If this thread has any point at all, it is that both Yao and Tmac are injury prone and that a majority of Rocket fans are bandwagon fans.

uh, that's new york, aka the most (by far) populated place in america.

you could swing s*** on a stick and still attract a hundred people.

That 2005-2006 Knicks roster, btw, at least had a few exciting players. Nate, young Ariza, THE FRANCHISE, street ballin Crawford and hey, David Lee.

Whereas the 2005-2006 Rockets had Ryan Bowen playing JVG ball, who in their right mind would pay to see that?

But the Clippers are the worst franchise in all sports, how did this happen? how did they win a playoff series? how did the Rockets with over $21 million paid to extremely popular all stars be so bad? ;)

Yao Ming played in 57 games and Tracy McGrady played in 47 games.

that's 69% and 57% of the regular season.

That couldn't topple a team's attendance to the near bottom. They played a decent amount of games to warrant some attendance.

you are basically saying that once Yao AND tmac were both not playing, the Rockets turned into the Astros.

What's the point of this thread? The Rockets were a two man team and those two guys barely played together. The Clippers just happened to have their best season ever the same year.

Yao + Tmac = fake batman and robin, more like Ren and Stimpy
