Tinman's style: Post inflammatory thread that has the mask of being nostalgic. Proceed to insult members who lack a deep knowledge of rockets history. Proceed to label members as an [insert player]-only-fan. Proceed to spew out nostalgia while winning over old-school fans and simultaneously making newer fans feel like tinman is better than them. Lather, rinse, repeat. Tinman wins...Tinman always wins...
+1000 Not only can we not want Tmac on the team, in Tinman world, we cant even appreciate him in the past.
tinman post checklist refer to a Rockets player from the 80's or 90's in a godly way refer to a present Rockets player negatively, making a direct comparison to the former player remind people that he registered in 1999 (this is important) drop an outdated hip-hop phrase to increase his credit (just in case being from 1999 didn't do the trick) double-check post to make sure he didn't accidentally say anything insightful
I wasn't alive during 85-86 team so I really don't know how good that team was, but I do know they were able to beat Magic's Lakers to get to the finals....so I'm leaning towards that team....However, who know's how far that 04-05 team would have gone if they didn't get cheated in that Mav. series.... --RB
A Hakeem/Sampson frontcourt would have absolutely demolished the 04-05 team. It would be have been comical and fun and sad at the same time to watch.
I always end up in these threads, just because the '85-'86 team was so much fun to watch and always bring back good memories. Those "Magic's Lakers" we trounced in 5 games were the defending champions. Nobody, except ardent Rockets fans like us, thought the Rocks had a chance in that series. Everyone talked of the inevitable finals against the Celtics. That LA/Houston series shocked the nation.
like 105 it seems.. cuz all his threads are like: "you know back in the old days...the rockets weren't even a basketball team. they lived in caves and chucked rocks at each other..."
This topic - popcorn aside - makes me want to pour over the ESPN classic schedule... so I can get at a few '85-'86 Rockets games!!
Didn't even have to read past the title to know who the poster was... On "topic": obvious answer is obvious.
An addendum: I don't know how you did it, but somehow you've ruined the Wu-Tang Clan. This also further reinforces the widely-held belief that you are, in fact, a middle-aged wigger living in his parents' basement who masturbates to Vernon Maxwell highlights. Please, correct me if I have misinterpreted your "style".
Thanks Deckard, I sift through the garbage posted on this thread for someone who understands this topic. I can't imagine how people get so angry if I posted a couple Bill Fitch pictures. they don't understand the similarities, both teams were suppose to go to bigger and better things. The 04-05 Rockets were suppose to be a force to be reckoned with even after the Dallas loss. The 85-86 Rockets were suppose to be the next big thing
those are your words. there's no mentioning of tmac in pictures or in words in my first post. aren't you guys watching Jersey Shore and trying to add Snookie as your facebook friend or something? 99
wow, did you have to google for hours to figure out that was wu-tang clan? i thought you were busy trying to upload crank dat soulja boy dance moves on youtube
