Exactly. Michelle even "let it slip" once when she said she wasn't proud to be an American.

and how many times has mc mark posted that picture of the caskets in the airplane? You're right, da Whopper, don't let the "liberal lynch mob" in here tell you otherwise.

Yet they pretty much voted for everything that the last Admin. asked for.

Given the timing since this is also dependent on Russia agreement too not passing it now would mean killing it.

I am curious though what your opinion is of the START treaty that Reagan signed which this treaty would essentially continue.

Attacking me does not absolve the republican party of their obligation to do what they should to keep America safe. I understand how this can be an embarrassment to you and your party. But please, let's deal with the situation at hand. Not some bogus strawman that you have created in your feeble mind.

There is no logical reason for republicans to delay a vote on this treaty other than their unfounded hatred for the President. And to do so only makes America weaker and borders on treason.

Thanks for taking a chance on this forum. I realize it can be sort of disorienting for you to be exposed to ideas outside the Fox-Limbaugh circle.

Does it really surprise anyone that basso and his threads are a leper around here while mc marshall sees no reprisal whatsoever? Why have I never seen "oh, another mc mark thread, let's post silly **** and ignore the article" from anyone in this forum? Does anyone really take this forum seriously other than the hard-core partisan libs?

Probably because mcmark doesn't post many threads. Of the first 140 threads on this forum, this is the only one he posted.

Do you actually read this forum? Or do you just come in here to b**** about liberals without actually having any idea what you're talking about?

I think it's just me major. Somewhere in the past I didn't like one of freak's "which chick is hotter after drinking all night" threads.

hello???? Are you not familiar with the "liberal lynch mob"? They specialize in the "pile-on technique" and try to strong-arm conservatives out of this place. They're far out of touch with America

You don't know what you got 'till its gone.
Time will tell if we stand the test of time.

Wait- we're not playing The Cliche Game? Oh, sorry, my "bad."

Now, if you'd like to hold an intelligent conversation, how about removing the ridiculous stupid tired cliches out of your repertoire and then we can talk. Simpleton.

No kidding. It would be nice if the leader of the other major party would raise hell about that from time to time. Hell, all the time. Bipartisanship has become a joke, thanks to the Republicans in Congress, aside from a few sane Republicans who are afraid to speak out about it.

Again, please try and stay on topic. This thread is about republican efforts to make America less safe; not about me or the "liberal lynch mob". If you have nothing to contribute, please refrain from posting.

Here's another report from Secretary Gates on the dangers of not renewing Start

Gates warns of 'significant consequences' if Senate fails to ratify New START treaty

It's good to see one republican senator standing up to his party and doing the right thing for America. Of course Mr Lugar is now being ostracized by his own party but that's to be expected from the party that has ]"gone so far overboard that we are beyond redemption.”[/B]

Lugar Urges Senate Support For New START: ‘Please Do Your Duty For Your Country’

LUGAR: Please do your duty for your country. We do not have verification of the Russian nuclear posture right now. We’re not going to have it until we sign the START treaty. We’re not going to be able to get rid of further missiles and warheads aimed at us. I state it candidly to my colleagues, one of those warheads…could demolish my city of Indianapolis — obliterate it! Now Americans may have forgotten that. I’ve not forgotten it and I think that most people who are concentrating on the START treaty want to move ahead to move down the ladder of the number of weapons aimed at us.

Does it really surprise anyone that Freak can't tell the difference between a thread with an article and a poster who posts his own thoughts and opinions with facts and evidence to back them up, and thread started by basso which is almost always based on a flawed and factually incorrect article which he will not bother to discuss anyone?

Let's just watch Freak whine and complain while being totally off base.

Are these the "thoughts and opinions" that you speak of?

Yes, I'm sure the reason that mc mark is given a free pass in this forum is that he hasn't started many threads in the last month. I know he's been on this site for over 11 years, but what you say does make a lot of sense. It's so clear now. Kudos.

Again, he presented evidence that backs those thoughts. If anyone wanted to disagree with them all they had to do was tell why they disagreed and maybe offer up something to support their different opinion.

It's often how debate and discussion works, on the occasions when it has worked well.

mc mark's article is factually correct which alone makes it different from 95% of the stuff basso posts. mc mark has presented a trail of evidence from the articles he posts that lead to his opinions. basso never does this, and often doesn't even offer up any commentary at all.

It just isn't accurate to pretend like mc mark is a different side of the same coin as basso.

Instead of attacking me, maybe you can post evidence that refudiates these opinions?

You do realize one of those was specifically the thought of a Republican in the article he posted, right? Brent Scowcroft: “I’ve got to think that it’s the increasingly partisan nature and the desire for the president not to have a foreign policy victory.”

It seems you just don't like the topic and wanted to throw a b****fest to avoid discussing anything.

Well of course it is! You're b****ing about him starting tons of threads like basso when he doesn't, in fact, start many threads. So of course he's going to get a free pass for something he doesn't do. The simple fact is that you had no idea what you were talking about and got caught making stuff up.

Yeah, I was going to take the time to do that, but then I remembered that this was a Houston Rockets website.
