I'm not even going to bother with that thread. Derailing one thread is bad enough. Just link to it so that you can all see exactly what I've been talking about. It's priceless. Thanks especially to fchow0311, it's, well... I couldn't have asked for a more perfect example of the bias I am talking about.

 

Funny watching one or two of the posters here get defensive. It's almost as if they should go ahead and write, "Look, I don't LIKE blacks; okay, fine, I like Stevie Wonder, Wayne Brady, and I GOTTA have my basketball....but you can't paint us all as racists."

Actually I don't see the OP painting all Repugs as racists. To be honest, it's the quote I bolded above that really stands out. Reminds me of my dad, an otherwise great human being, but when it comes to, say, Martin Luther King? "He's a racist!" What? "A racist!"

Yep, MLK's a racist for getting African Americans (sorry, let me use big_texx-speak: "the blacks") to not want to take any more crap.

All Republicans are not racists, but for many people who are racists, of whatever political affiliation, they have a staggering lack of self-awareness.

A black man gets elected President. Militia membership in the U.S. and gun sales skyrocket (no, I'm not gonna go get a f****** link to prove it; it's fairly common knowledge). I mean, many people are just beside themselves. They really cannot fathom that Obama is, yes, as American as any American, that he doesn't have some sort of secret Negro Manifest ("I hate you whiteys! When I'm done pouring this swill into the pipelines of Gotham you'll all become Muslim Socialists! BU WA HA HA! Cats will live with dogs! White people will eat more pork chops and cornbread! BU WA HA HA! Long live the League of Shadows!")

Oh, and by the by: Arizona is one of the most racist states that exist. I don't know its history, I don't know how it happened, but I have met more than a few people from there, and I don't think it's an accident that it's Sheriff Joe's territory. I think Saruman jerked off into some petrie dish in Arizona and out popped Arizona law enforcement officers, like more human-in-appearance Uruk Hai.
