I'm living in Hong Kong right now. Used to live in Houston but after 10 enjoyable years in a different country I was forced to come back here ...

No Rockets here in Hong Kong, although Yao is still pretty hyped here. The ESPN here broadcasts soccer all the time, which isn't too bad, but the fact that they ignore the NBA (especially the Rockets) is a sh!tty thing!

    Rant over!

I got to see about 4 rockets games last year down here in AUstralia. They play 2 nba games a week. The main teams they play are Lakers, Nets, Spurs, Mavs & Phili. There is atleast one of those teams playing in atleast one of the weekly games

I'm going to assume that he set the "Sort By" option at the bottom of the forum to "Thread Starter" and the time limit to "The Beginning" and went from there.

    Another fan from the Philippines.

I've been a fan since the days of Ralph Sampson.

Those days we didn't have cable so we rented old NBA games and watched them on Betamax or VHS. As far as I remember, our Betamax was very busy when I'd borrow three or four NBA games for the weekend.

I used to watch a lot of Houston-Utah (with Mark Eaton)or Houston - Denver (Alex English)tapes, though I watched Charles Barkley too when he was with Philly. Those days, I think Washington had Jeff Ruland, if I'm not mistaken.

Anyway, now that we have cable, gone are the days when I had to rent NBA tapes.

I hope Yao Ming emulates Ralph Sampson and dominates the league.

Oh I'm from Hong Kong too but living in Houston now. It's good to know there're HK pals on this BBS even tho it is pretty much expected.

And, man I know how HK ppl are crazy about soccer. (I used to be one when I was at HK too) I think soccer is just too overwhelming in HK. I can't imagine how one can possibly keep track of three soccer leagues (or more) in a season. :D

And btw, know what, comparing to those soccer fans living in US, your situation (not being able to watch the Rox) just isn't bad at all. :D

I'm from nottingham, england and you won't be the lengths many of us foreign fans have to go to in order to follow the rockets.

mind you it's worth it because life is never dull with this franchise

Sound like you got yourself a nice tour. I would also include Gramado, which is a nice little town who looks like something out of the Swiss Alps, and where it actually snows in July and August, but that would be going too far south out of your way.

The Iguazu Falls aren't all they are cracked up to be, and mostly tourists go over there because of Ciudad Del Este, which is in Paraguay, where you can get all the latest tech gear and the same prices you guys pay in the US... something which is impossible in Brazil.

I would probably recommend that you spend more time on Salvador, Fortaleza and maybe Maceio too, as the beaches are really something to behold, instead of going to Iguazu.

Despite getting to watch at least one NBA game a day here in the Philippines, and sometimes 3 or even 4 a day, Rockets games are hard to come by. It's pretty random actually. This past season, Rox gameswere increased a bit from last season because of the Yao hoopla, him being from Asia like we are. I'd say that out of 82 games, we saw about 25. Not bad if you consider that the Rox has been a non-playoff team the past four years, and standings are usually the major factor in tv skeds. Meaning, we got a lot of Kings, Mavs, Lakers, etc.
